I can't imagine that they simply just cut the skin off and throw the rest of the animal to the dirt. Does anyone know if the rest of the animal is utilized or if it really is just the slaughter of the sheep for a boot?

If they are using the whole animal, then I don't see the problem in buying them. Humans have been wearing animal skins and furs ever since we first thought we needed to.

 
i keep seeing people post this article but i will put money on the fact that most of these people will not stop wearing their Uggs.

Yeah, but would you stop wearing a 14 karat diamond because you found out it was a blood diamond? A much larger price tag, sure, but those boots are pricey as hell.
 
no and i never said i would stop wearing Uggs. i'm saying that most of these chicks are trying to act like they care when they actually don't care enough. this isn't personal for me whatsoever hahaha just an observation

as bad as it may sound, sheep are so plentiful that killing them doesn't bother me. I mean, I'm still opposed to poor treatment of livestock because I'm not a fucking sadist, but raising them just to be killed is fine IMO. killing the animal for just it's skin or wool also seems dumb to me just because it is wasteful. the sheep's gonna die either way but you might as well get your moneys worth from the thing

now wasteful killing of animals that are at a certain level of risk is definitely not cool. like the chineseseses killing sharks for their fins just seems retarded because sharks have ruled the ocean for hundreds of millions of years and now some shitty humans come along and kill them off for a fancy food, just seems to spit in the face of evolution and a truly awesome beast that nature made.

i live with a pretty chill vegetarian and a militant vegan (who isnt even a committed vegan but she sure as fuck talks like one) so i almost ALWAYS am playing devils advocate against those two, trying to go anti-vegetarian as possible without actually offending them. my real position is somewhere in the middle.
 
Who cares, they're just animals. Where the hell do you think the meat you buy from the grocery store comes from? Guess what? I shot a deer this past weekend. I must be some kind of fucking monster.
 
i don't have them, and I'm not goth, vegan, or hipster. I'm not bashing people that like them or anything, but honestly i think they just look stupid.
 
I don't really get why uggs get so much hate, footwear is the last type of clothing I look at or care about on a girl
 
im over exaggerating to make a point. obviously there are girls who dont have them, but there are tons and tons who do. the other day walking to class i paid attention to what shoes people were wearing and probably 8/10 girls were wearing uggs.
 
well that's not a very valid point of view, considering ugg makes many many different styles of boots, and their appearances vary drastically.

 
i have been buying leather UGG boots since 2006.

They are more durable than RJ's or my nearly annual new Timberland boots.

You can get these things soaked and they dry out within hours.

 
The only girls I see in Uggs now are washed up, white trash, overly tan, never lost their freshman 15 type, bogie smokerr type girls who are always wearing last year's style...

I clicked randomly through the video and saw the part where they're saying the sheep used are treated like shit and have maggots eating through their skin and shit. oh my lord whoever added that to the video has to be missing several dozen chromosomes.

A sheep with it's skin full of maggot holes is a worthless sheep and never one you'd use for any leather products let alone designer boots. you keep the sheep in good condition or your wool/leather is worthless.

Also that clip of some dude cutting open a sheep throat is almost certainly a video tape from the Muslim celebration of Eid where sheep are killed in that exact way.
 
Seeing as your not past the 8th grade, you know nothing. If you go to any college town in the winter you see uggs everywhere... Stop talking out of your ass.
 
In my town, and every other town i've been in they've died the fuck off. Sorry I'm not living in the same town and watching the girls feet intently.
