im sure he gets money from stept and is probably living with friends just as a bottom line he probably doesnt need the money bad enough to need to be higher than flow at the moment but thats just my opinion

Shea really is not going to be sponsored again. I talked to him at MHSSC. He literally had a pair of icelantics and replaced the white letters in the bottom of the ski with black ptex and he painted the tops black.

Word is Pep is renegotiating his contract. K2 had to cut costs to save face with a new president/corporate entity so they cut athletes to make their budget look lean. I've heard they're resigning most of their heavy hitters for this winter. Think Lebron opting out of his Heat contract only to resign with them a month later. It's not a done deal, but they'd be crazy to let him go. -rogge

Just posed this in the other thread about pep but still some explanation for k2 being stupid.

I would like to direct everyone's attention to this post and the other posts by Matt in this thread that say the exact same thing. Shea got a pair or two, but is not sponsored. He's looking to do his own thing. How do we know? We work at MHSSC, where he coaches in the earlier parts of summer. He told us this himself.

Stuff about K2 internal is interesting though. Kind of a shame that the corporate side is messing with what was a ridiculously ill team. All of this assumes that the posts in this thread are true...

because those one or two pairs of skis they toss him a year really impedes on said "big names" budget right? k2 isn't exactly run in someone's garage you know

in all honesty sean clayton and shea are probably just giving him old skis... not sponsered
