^ ^^ you guys don't know what your talking about, shotguns fire slugs too and many people put scopes on them. Although I can't see the file to take a guess at what it is.

You don't put bipods on shotguns. But one day in the near furture I will own an AR-10 rifle with a laser, scope and flashlite. So badass.

Funny you say that, because you don't put scope on shotguns either. It's not like it's hard to hit a target with at least one BB out of 50 or a big ass slug, or I guess you could use the scope for 100yd shots... NOT!
 
Maybe you don't live in a state that has no rifle hunting areas.

As for your hundred yard comment here is something I pulled out of a slug gun article from fish and game.

"Designed for rifled shotgun barrels, each sabot slug has a plastic sleeve around the projectile that molds itself to the rifling as the slug moves down the barrel. This imparts a controlled, stabilizing spin on the projectile that, in many guns, produces 3-inch groups of five shots at 100 yards."

 
"I like low-range variable scopes for shotgun hunting, something from 1-4X or 2-7X at most. The low end will allow a wide field of view for quick target acquisition in thick areas. A 4X scope will do the job out to 150 yards, but a little more magnification is nice if you are planning on long shots. Choose the largest objective diameter that can still be mounted low enough to keep a good sight picture. For most guns, that is between 28mm and 40mm. Most importantly, do not skimp on eye relief - slug guns kick hard!"

Here's some more info for ya. Lots of people hunt with shotguns and scopes.

you are a fucking RETARD! please don't make comments unless you know what you are talking about. you obviously have heard of a slug gun, so why the fuck are you so stupid? there are certain parts of states where you can't shoot a rifle, so you have to shoot slugs, archery or muzzleloaders. so you can need a scope for a shotgun. also duck hunters use a scope sometimes. oh and hitting a target with on BB out of more like a few hundred, is almost as hitting it with 50. being it shoots in a fucking pattern. sorry, but you just pissed me off being an asshole, when you know nothing about hunting.
 
Yeah if you are a fucking moron. All of the information you just provided me with proves that there are plenty idiots out there that will use the scope on a shotgun and support the idea.
 
It's unecessary, but you can do it. I did it with my moms gun for the hell of it, and because I didn't know what else to get her for Christmas.
 
I am thinking your family is probably something like mine then, seriously the only gift you could think of for your mom was a scope for her shotgun. Did you get your pops a re-loader too.
 
Ya we got a pretty f-ed up firewall or whatever here at work. I can't even get on sites having to do with alcohol/tobacco/firearms. Thank god I'm still able to get on NS otherwise I might have to do some work.
 
Well I guess it's just the one side of the family then huh?? I grew up hunting, in my family if you don't hunt and shoot guns they treat ya like you have a mental problem or something, and if you don't eat venison LOOKOUT!
 
My dad told me he was going to force me to learn how to shoot a gun. I said no, you already took me to the range when I was like 8 or 9 and I remember. He says its important for women to know how to shoot guns. Fuck.
