Shaun's white 1080

Tommorow, it will be xgames best trick skate, and shaaun white will (probably) atempt a 1080. That would be sick. He would own all the other skateboarders by stomping a trick that he does a lot in pipe when snowboarding. Any thoughts?

I would say that skateobarding has more influenced snowboarding(street rails, half pipes) but this time, snowboarding influence more skateboarding because tommorow, the best trick contest will become a spin contest, with shaun as the favorite pic(because of his 1080),which is a snowboarder.

^yea but its different in the sense that no one has done a 10. once it gets played then spin to win is lame. 900s are getting close, but a 10 is a big step.

Tony 9 was sick...but the contest was done, and he insisted to continue to try his 9 and he did it...but not at the right time...yes it was epic, but i wasnt done in the rules.

i was kidding about this. i'm just sick of everybody hating on big spins. i most certainly hope he stomps the 10.

I really doubt he will be able to pull it off, attempt it maybe, but not get it... Who knows he could prove me wrong...

Well Im sure most of you have seen the attempts he did. He didnt do like Tony and go across the ramp (in the air) at all. He goes like, straight up, spins, and comes straight down. Spin to win IS gay. Sure, it's progression and shit, but it's lame to watch.

Why wouldnt it be? I saw Tony's 9 too, this is the same thing reborn from the ashes.

His snowboarding style comes out sooo much in his skating. The way he spins and pumps the tranny is carbon copy from his snow steeze.

You can really tell shaun is a snowboarder. He goes bigger than everyone and he has way more rotations in his runs. He's not looking too close. The thing with a skateboard is that you HAVE to spin the whole thing. A 1080 is really a 1080. In snowboarding a 1080 is usually about a 900 plus a revert.

did he actually do it? i missed it, but then they were saying he tried it 29 times, and then that on x-center they woud show if he got it or not. but thats not on for a while and im going to bed.

man he came real close like 2 times... i was sittin there thinking " man , i feel bad for him, sucked in vert, and best trick didnt nail it..." but then i remembered he had winter x and the olympic gold... so i didnt feel bad anymore haha

So you're saying you'd rather see something that's been done a bunch of times rather than something new?

you guys dont seriously think tony hawk is the only person to land a 900 do you? hes only the first to do it in recorded media history. sando diaz did them loooong before but he wasnt like HEY MEDIA LOOK AT ME!!!!

good point...

i think shaun white would be he only skateboarder to be able to pull this off because of the snowboarding influence tho

wow i hate the fuck out of shaun white, i like snowboarding and all, but shaun white is just a big fag, and he is so much more overrated than anyone else. it would suck if he was the first, tony hawk is such a cool dude he it would be so much cooler if he did it, especially since he is like 40 now, that would be so badass.

Uhhh... yeah... Shaun White is hardly overrated. Are you on crack or something? Or do you actually have some valid points to back up your claim?

vidoe?

And shaun is a snowboarder through and through. the height, the grabs, the spins....all look snowboarder. he stands out just my his massive airs alone.

danny way was the first ever to try the 900..

and he almost landed it.

he landed, rolled away and felll over on the flat.

and he was only 13 at the time...

now he's like 45.

he did this wwwwaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay before tony hawk did the first 900 ever to be done in a comp.

the x games, he did do like 3 10's or whatever but they all sucked and had no style, the 2nd and 3rd place guys had such different more creative stylie tricks, shaun white just spun the most but they were shitty. i could see him getting 3rd mabye. there are such better snowboarders than him.

Dude, throwing 3 1080's in one run is fucking amazing. You're just applying the thought that "switch 10's are gay" from skiing big air comps. If you thought that any of his spins where ugly, then you don't know style. Plus it's a comp. where he knows what it takes to win, and he did just that. He throws down some creative shit man, just not in that ONE comp. Check out his movie The White Album. He's one of the best out there and at such a young age. No one could beat him in slopestyle or pipe so how can you say that there are "such better snowboarders than him"? Oh I know, because he gets a lot of publicity so he must suck! Nice logic buddy.
