I dont even know where to start.. first of all, x games is giving him extra points evena fool can see it.. 100 score for hand drags, 1st place to shaun at europe x games while louie vitos run was more technical and had 2 more doubles executed perfectly.. still shaun got more points. Every x games contest slopestyle/pipe/snowmobile etc, theres always an advertise about shaun whites and how is he gonna do in pipe tomorrow and such. If some1 who doesent know anythign about snowboarding is watching x games and see shaun doing "perfect" run in pipe, they obviously think shaun is the best snowboarder on earth, because they dont know the real snowboarding attitude, having fun on mountain. And not building own private pipe and train there 24/7 to foam pit.

He just pisses me off so much that i had to make a thread about it. he clearly doesent belong in snowboarding, mr got wrong attitude. Peace and troll hard!

 
well first off, x-games is fucking terrible and ruining both sports, so that is the main problem

but yes, SW is a huge douche that wins just because he is the most famous mainstream snowboarder in the world. people that don't even live near snow know his name, so they want to see him win, and espn knows that and capitalizes on it
 
haha wow..op is a fucking idiot. He is the BEST pipe snowboarder ever and he deserves every damn gold he gets. He throws the hardest tricks that noone else has and goes twice as high. Go fuck yourself.
 
He is probz best pipe rider atm.. but the point is that x games must stop highlighting him only. when there are bunch of other good riders. when mcmorris won both big air and slope, x games didnt hype it. when shaun won now they make huge deal about it. Good pipe rider, but dick as person. Private pipe srly...?
 
shaun white has no rail game, can't ride backcountry, doesn't do any doubles outside of pipe, and he only wins because he's shaun white. even my mom points this out. Torstein horgmo is da best

I read a few posts these last days on Facebook that X-games actually paid 120'000 Euros to SW for him to come and compete. Same thing for the WSC 2012 in Oslo there was the same kind of posts on Facebook that SW asked 120'000 euros to go and compete there.I don't know if it is actually true !!!

 
it's just espn making a bigger star for their own ratings and. I mean why would they promote some no name snowboarder who only appears between the pages of snowboarder magazine over the guy who's face is in front of international marketing campaigns for huge corporations? You gotta blame The Man, event producers, corporate sponsors, Shaun White's agent (or maybe everyone else's)...

He has his own pipe at northstar, which is super fun to hit and yeah.

They close the whole pipe for him, and they have a foam pit for him to boost into, which is sick and all. But I mean fuck.

He didn't go to Travis Rice's event either.
 
That's because SW doesn't have the skills to hit an event like that, T. Rice is the future of snowboarding, not that ginger piece of shit.

I saw him at the top of the pipe last week sometime. I suddenly felt the urge to call him a Ginger Curly Bastard. Hope he heard me. Sure I respect his tricks and all that shit. Just annoyed that they can close shit, just for him. That pipe is so much fun.

One of the dudes I ride with got a bit vocal on the North* fb page about it. Nothing to bad, quite professional. Commenting on how the park hasnt changed and the promoting of the "Shaun White" pipe. Only for it to be closed 99% of the time.

He got banned from commenting on their page. He's a long time respected English competitive skier, no explanation was given to him.
 
he is really good at riding pipe, but it doesnt look like he has any fun. he. does the samew run all season which is super boring to watch. people that dont know about snowboarding probably dont realize this but all he cares about is winning. i didnt see the euro x games but the ones here in the states were a joke. he got a 100, nothing is perfect especially not thay run. i kinda think he just embraces the fact everyone thinks hes a douche and just goes with it.
 
Maybe when he is chilling at his halfpipe he has fun and dicks around? He's gotta pay the bills man, why change his routine until somebody beats him with a better one.
 
so whats wrong with that? You guys think he sucks..which i dont understand. I get the whole thing about people getting tired of people winning all the time, but when someone clearly deserves it and is way more ahead of the game than any other snowboarder there is no reason to have so much hate.
 
I like the slopestyle far better and it made me laugh when he didn't make the finals different times.

He's a great rider. one of the best, that's undeniable. His personality from what I can tell is fucking awful and the way he gets scored is a joke.

Was much cooler his first year or 2 at x when he was just a little guy.

How about he skills to survive in the bc. Life's hard as a skinny pants little bitch from so cal.
 
Normally, I'd agree with this fully...however, Shaun did win Euro X Slopestyle without question, was it a 97...no, but he did put down the best run, considering he was really the only one to complete a run without a bobble of some kind. In a day when "perfection" is the key word, it's hard to say someone else did better than him at that comp, on that day.
 
well i wouldn't say he ruined snowboarding, he is a very good snowboarder, but i don't think that he has single handedly screwed up snowboarding, granted I don't really like him.
 
I was the best at that game when i was like 12. I set records on my cousins that his friends were trying to beat all through college and they weren't shit compared to mine.

Damn. Whoever made that comment about trolls on their game was spot on. I mean the way he acts like he is in a love affair with SW is just hilarious.
 
shawn white would be semi tolerable if he put normal people pants on and didn't pretend like he was a rockstar.
 
halfpipe he is the best, not 100 worthy but he goes noticeably bigger then everyone else and throws tricks no one else does. his slope run should not have won and that is fucked but he's damn good at HP
 
This, he makes everyone else look like chicks in the pipe. I wouldn't be surprised if that is how slope is too though.
 
this must have been before euro x slopestyle. you cant deny his skill. but he is killing the sole of snowboarding i think. hes making people think that you dont have the have good style with your grabs and proper body position. and that all it takes to be the best snowboarder is to be able to do the hardest tricks. thats not what snowboarding is about. its very annoying and just makes it so other people have to play the same game as him in order to beat him. during euro x slope he did boot grabs with tricks that were not smooth at all and did one of the worst rail tricks i have ever seen on the last feature. the fact that they could let something like that go and still give him a mega score just for his 3 doubles is ridiculous.
 
i hate it when random people say "so shaun white probably is one of your big time role models then right" after they find out im really into skiing....ugh
