Shane McConkey's picture is featured on the april 4th edition of the Globe and Mail along with a one page tribute. The author also quotes what I believe came from NS? "It feels like Superman died..."

 
i think that quote was from TGR. no biggie though, its a cool quote. and its nice to see a tribute on that kinda scale.

 
For some reason I always get chocked up when reading stories in the globe. I was reading this one in McDonald's and broke into tears, having to bury myself in my fries to avoid embarrassment.
 
Ya true, extremely poorly written, but great intent. Its good to see him getting recognition outside of the ski community.
 
too bad all the episodes are already shot. next season if it lasts that long for sure.
 
Some of the quotes in the article angered me. Like the ones from the unknown author.

"quite stupid useless acts."

"If he really valued his family he wouldn't have jumped off a perfectly good mountain," the commentator concluded.

That guy can go to hell. Clearly, whoever said that has never had a passion in their life, and has no idea what it is to love something the way Shane Loved our sport and base jumping.

 
ya my dad was reading it asking if i knew who shane was, i was really surprised that they put a full page article for him. As said above its great that hes getting some recognition outside the ski community
