^^ hmmm
yeah I guess it is pretty simple
its not like you need to understand weather, aerodynmamics, velocity, alitiude, relationship to surrounding rocks and cliffs, how to deal with malfunctions, how to recover from a deflated wing or a tangle, how to control your speed (you do understand that this takes 1000's of jumps to master), oh yeah and the whole landing thing is kind of tough....and that is all just basic skydiving, now add a saftey window of only a few seconds and an unstable surface such as snow in conjunction with NEVER skied before lines...yeah it sounds pretty damm easy!
It is not like he is jumping out of airplanes here....he is hurling off of cliffs at 40-60 mph in some cases, he needs to clear 100's of feet of distance to avoid rocks, all the time he needs to have everything work perfect or he is dead! not injured, not bomb holed out, but DEAD.....try even side stepping to the edge of a 2000-foot cliff on your skis without crapping your pants....
you may not like how it relates to monkeying around on rails.....but no professional skier denies that what shane is doing is progressive/insane and simply sick!
So yeah....it must be easy, just ski fast and pull the cord, you should try it
