Seven Sunny Days review.........MSP's best film since Focused

I anxiously threw in my copy of 7SD after work today and I was pleasantly stoked by what I saw. Focused was and still is an all time movie for me, but I felt like MSP had fallen into a downward spiral, like they were losing touch. Push was ok I guess, but it felt like a chore to watch the whole thing.

With 7SD, MSP comes out the gate with another strong Abma performance, one of the best all around riders in the game. The movie then gets a healthy injection of style from Colby West and TJ Schiller. Colby does some amazing follow cam work, and TJ, sweet mercy son...you gotta see it. I am going to break the rewind chapter button on my remote, his seg is straight terminal illness, one of the best I've seen this yr.

Sammy C throws down as always, and Jon's seg is pretty cool. I'm not a huge fan of the dub flips, but he's getting into bc lines now. It sucks that Bushfield's seg was limited due to injury.

Eric H slays some nasty lines, CR has an inspirational segment, and there is some crazy flying suit footage from Norway. I know, McConkey is a nut and it's not really my thing, but it's a crazy seg.

On the negative side, there were some parts you'll want to FF through, and MSP still forces the epic XTREMEness vibe at times and some of the voiceovers were lame. Someone needs to tell them to let the footage speak for itself sometimes.

Overall, Colby West, TJ Schiller and Sammy C brought the dopesauce to spice up MSP's barbecue. Worth my money and I give 7SD a 7/10.

ps-here's a gauge of my preference in movies

TBC=11/10

Idea=10/10

Ses 1242=9/10

WAR=9/10

Focused=9/10

Believe=8/10

Yeah Dude=6/10

Push=5/10

Ski Porn=4/10

Hit List=3/10

How can you give Idea a 10? I'll never understand what is it with that movie. I'm starting to think that maybe USA got a different copy than the ones that got to europe, cause the movie is no more than a 6.5

MSP has lost focus since ski movie 3. i refuse to watch anything else they release.

wow great there are 3 good segments in the entire movie, i'd rather not spend 40 bucks for that. you shouldn't have to FF a ski movie, if its good. when will they figure out snowmobiling and base jumping belong in their own movies?

They'll probably figure it out well before you stop bagging on them. Your 1,000+ posts laying into MSP have grown far more stale than if they put out 50 of the same movie.

What I'm about to say will be controversial, but in my opinion Idea shouldn't be rated more than a 9. And Yeah Dude shouldn't be a 6. But everyone's got personal preferences.

Anyways, yeah, I heard TJ just kills it out there. I gotta get my hands on a copy of this, somehow.

Agreed i really liked 7SD alot more than push or hit list. Abma absolutely killed it, the whole movie had a sweet vibe, and for once i truly enjoyed the basejump birdsuit followcam. Bummer that Bushy got hurt though, Eric H killed the big mtn, TJ destroyed the park, Bust seg of the year goes to Abma. Seriously impressed this year MSP

Well it goes back to the fact that MSP appeals to a larger audience than a mostly park vid. SSD just puts everything together in an entertaining way, not just 3 good segments, there was no segment in there that was slacked on. You can show this movie to a freeskier and they will be think its sick, and you can show this movie to a person that doesn't ski and they will be awed. About the snowmobiling, I may be wrong I haven't watched them in a while but I think I remember seeing it in the ski movie series as well. It just adds another cool element, as does the base jumping which I still can't get over those follow cam shots with the wing suits right next to the wall.

No it was fairly short. It wasn't the same thing over and over. They met up with crazy norweigans in flying suits. It was more like the segment in High Society (SMII). The snowmobiling segment is tiny, its just setting a new world record (263.5 ft) and thats it. I was extremely impressed with this movie, not just one of the best MSP movies in years, but one of the best movies this year I think.

Unfortunately Hugo was slower coming back from a serious knee injury than expected and didn't want a sub-Hugo segment in the flick. Check the dvd extras.

I thought 7SD was amazing. But then again my ratings scale for ski movies is highly skewed because I like pretty much any ski movie a lot. It has to really suck for me not to get stoked and want to go skiing which isn't that often.

I really liked Push & Pull, so im pumped that the general consensus gives this a better rating. i cant wait to see it
