Seven Springs 2012

I'm surprised the alley hasn't been open yet. I wonder how long it'll take to build. I'm really hoping it opens tomorrow

Is any one from Pittsburgh heading to springs this weekend? Id love to ride the alley but i don't have a car at school. I'd throw down some money for gas and tolls.

Hidden Valley vs. Springs

I know there was a lot of talk of Valley earlier, now that they are both semi built up which is better?

I don't know weather to go to hidden valley or springs

Anyone get a chance to ride the Alley? How is it? Jump sizes? Overheard someone at a restaurant tonight say they were "fucking huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuge!!"

The alley setup is really fun as long as there is speed for the jumps. Theres a rail line and a box line up top then the usual 2 small jumps into 2 medium jumps at the bottom then a rail line leading back to the lift.

anybody know when spot jumps are gonna be up? if they arent already. i wasnt up last weekend cause i was in stowe so i wasnt sure.

santas beard has 2 flat rails, 3 flat boxes, a down rail and 2 shitty kickers.

the alley has down rail, flat down rail, S rail, 4 Jumps (larges is maybe 20-30 feet?) but speed is tough for those, some boxes, a canon rail, a rainbow, and wall thingy after the jumps.

Spot currently has the burton US open setup in, slopestyle corse is SICK so fingers crossed that they leave that up, obviously the pipe is in there too

The streets is the same as aways, with a few new additions this year in case you haven't been yet

I want to know why the fuck theyre closing at 6 all this week and only open until 9 on friday/saturday and 7 on sunday. The conditions are the best theyve been all season and were supposed to get more snow tomorrow night. I was planning on coming up at like 3/4 after my classes on tuesday and thursday and skiing all night but now those plans are shot because theyre retarded.

my dad works for Springs. They haven't been getting good attendance, even on the weekends. Its not paying fot them to stay open at night when they don't even get very many people during the day.

I think a lot of that has to do with the outrageous prices people have to pay for single day tickets. If i didnt have a season pass I would definitely not be coming out very much for how much they charge, and in regards to not many people coming during the day so they close at night, its all the older retired people who dont want to ski on ice and dont benefit from the parks so they dont come. This reminds me of some of the econ classes ive taken over the past couple years, as price increases, quantity demanded decreases, and if you dont charge the equilibrium price which is lower than what theyre charging now, theyre clearly going to lose business.

yeah i mean my dad only works there during the winters, he does construction through the rest of the year. According to him the place isn't run very well at all, its extremely disorganized. i live really close to springs so i rarely ski at night regardless, but i can imagine if someone had to drive an hour + just to get there the hours would be inconvenient.

Im going to Pitt Greensburg now so Im an hour away and I can only come up at night after my classes so thats why im a little pissed. The only reason I ski at springs is my aunt and uncle have a condo that I can use a bunch during the winter. I know a lot of the condo owners are pissed about how its being run (including my aunt and uncle) and a lot are selling their condos to go to HV and other places. Itll be interesting to see what happens in the next couple years.

Exactly, the prices they charge for a lift ticket is substantially more than tickets you can get out west. It isn't even just the lift tickets, the food is ridiculous too. I think their price would also go down alot if they didn't try to blow snow when it's 30 degrees outside.

Updates on the parks? Going down that way this coming weekend. Heard about the 85 footer and was wondering what's all open and what they got

All the parks are open except for the spot, which is closed for the rest of the season for a Burton/Ride buildout and shoot.

north park is still solid 35-45 foot step-overs, guys this weekend were throwing 10s and able to take them real deep

any idea what ticket prices will be this weekend? or how I could somehow get a cheap ticket? Thinking about heading over from ohio since all our resorts closed too early.
