Anyone heard anything about when theyre trying to open? I heard that they sent out letters to condo owners about possibly opening thanksgiving weekend. Any truth to this?
 
If theyre open Thanksgiving weekend, I'll be suprised. My guess is that they'll open the first or second weekend in December. They didnt make snow after that storm we got when I think they could have. After this weekend being so hot, most of the snow they had is almost gone so they have to wait now until it gets cold so they can make snow.
 
It would have been dangerous to ski and make snow when we got hit with snowy sandy. The ground was WAY to warm to hold a base of snow. It would have melted faster from the bottom than from the sunlight.
 
Fresh staff, apparently some new features as well. Projected opening day (as per Mtn. Crew) is Dec 1. Jeremy has his head on straight, and really has the ability to do amazing things with the place. Lots of new faces this year, but then again, lots of us who have been there for a while didn't return. Should make for an interesting season. Got nothing but faith in those dudes, though. They'll kill it as usual. Make sure you hit up Always Board on the way in, too.
 
And the countdown begins my friends hopefully by the end of next week at the very latest, I just checked webcams and whatnot and they've been steadily pumpin out snow the past like 3 days
 
7 Springs on 11/28/2012:

"We did make snow overnight and will resume again tonight. Opening day is just around the corner."

Hidden Valley on 11/28/2012:

"Slopes will be open Fri., Nov. 30 – Sun., Dec. 2!"

Sorry Springs, looks like Hidden Valley will be getting my money before you again. I'm feeling springs will open a week after HV like they did last year.
 
Yeah this is surprising. How the hell has hidden valley beat them the last two years.

 
As much as I love Seven Springs, Hidden Valley is a lot more dedicated to what they do. That's how I view it. I go to Springs for the parks. I go to Hidden Valley to ski, although their park scene is getting noticeable now!
 
Same thing used to be the case with Roundtop.

Roundtop used to run shit in terms of the park scene for PA
 
wasn't there a free ticket to hidden valley with a purchase of a springs season pass or am I off my rocker?
 
I feel like the vibes at Valley on opening day are way better than springs.. Way more fun to just cruise/,chief, and booze all day. Plus valley does a silly job of grooming so there's never a shortage of booters and epii head walls to send.

And for all you park heads, the Mayor, and diesel should be getting that park looking prime time real soon!
 
How do I go about getting this free ticket and half price tickets? Im definitely gonna be at valley saturday but I wanna try n get over there more this winter I heard alot of good things about valleys park last year with west n dan working on it, may just be my new friday night spot to avoid all the gapers on their school trips to springs on fridays
 
SPRINGS OPEN TOMORROW!!!!! Ill be there Saturday open to close. And Evan, you have to go to the operations office I believe? It's the office right above the rental area.

haha no I was wearing the greyish black pants and the black stept hoodie and pittsburgh hat with shades I was curious as to who that was wearing the the lethal descent and had the same setup as me
 
Some kids were building alittle jump off one of the trails and throwing some flips off it. It looked pretty cool.
