Setting Spins?

I have always wondered how the pro skiers spin so freaken fast, but in all the tips I've read, especially the 'how-to' section in Freeze they never seem to explain how to set a spin. Could anyone tell me how those guys do it? Is looking over your shoulder seriously the best way to spin?

wind up your arms before goin off.

and don't worry about spinning fast just make it smooth and stylie

try to lick your back. seriously!

stick your tounge as close to your back as you can and keep it there till you wanna stop spinning. also, use as much arm swinging momentum as possible. Soon you'll be poopin 7's off of tiny lips and rollers.

JUST GIVE 'ER!!!

When you're learning, actually wind-up your body,it looks a little funny but its an easy Way to learn, after awhile it should become natural and you can make it look easy

just get to know how hard u must set for 3's etc... then once u know that, youll know how much harder to set for bigger spins... take it up to 5 which is very easy.. and then set harder for a 7

Clearly the pro's have it down, but i think the fact that they are hitting HUGE jumps helps. What amazes me is how tanner can throw the no muscle movement things. It's amazing. He pretty much has to set his rotation perfect right as he goes off. It's gotta be mad hard

don't only use your arms, your shoulders and hips are way more important. Also, you might set your rotation in to soon. That way you've ended the momentum before you take off. In the air, try to move as little as possible, you will not spin faster waving and stuff.

ahahahaa, that's from experience?

^haha, good one...

I just make sure I look over my shoulder and when I'm ready to stop I just follow the spot where I want to land and I just kinda stop

and make sure you NEVER try and turn at the lip without the intention of setting an off-axis spin! If that's what you're talking about then just kinda carve into the lip and a slight angle and for the first couple tries worry more about watching the landing than looking over your shoulder and spinning fast. You'll fuck yourself up majorly if you do!

On my way to goddom

If u have a tramp try this. Jump really high and do a 360 with your arms out to the side. Then do another spin and start with your arms to the side, then at 180 pull them in. You will start to rotate much faster.

make sure you pop before you start to spin and just keep looking over you shoulder

Are some skiers trying to copy snowboarding?

Tanner: There\'s a small group of people that are doing that, but I think for the most part, there are a bunch of Rollerbladers and skiboarders that are being gay.

HOLLA! ANCIENT REPRESENT!! ANCIENT INC

first of all, youll need tiny skis. second of all.. pros dont spin fast. 13 year olds with skis up to there nipples spin fast.

ya really twist your arms so u look like a fag when u go off the jump... no. use the shoulders and hips.

TRY EVERYTHING EVEN IF IT MEANS KICKING YOUR OWN ASS

CR Johnson spins way to fast but the thing is spinning fast is dumb

Thats the way I live my life: I grip it and I rip it.

Yeah I think it looks way sick if you pull the huge slow three with a fat grab than if you whip out the 7. My problem was typically spinning too fast on threes, so when I do a 3 i only use my right arm out to throw my weight. On 7s and 9s I use everything I got and lose care of which way I land... what's the worst that can happen, landing fakie?!
