Ive heard that seth has a new pro model...the seth viscious (spelling) but i havent herad much abouyt it. What are the specs? is it a replacement for the pistol?

he's been riding them at the butte. They are so sick, bigger, and dont have the bullshit ass die cut base like they used to have so they actually move fast. Its just a black base, and there is an awesome tribute to the life of Josh Malay on them.

I rode the lift the other day with a friend of Seth's and he gave me some info, so it's probably as reliable as it gets without talking to Morrison himself. The dude has also had the chance to ride the Vicious and said it was badass.

He said the Vicious is fatter than the Pistol, but not quite as big as the Made'n. It's also stiffer than the Pistol, so it's more like the flex of the Pistols Seth actually rides. Early season Morrison was sporting them at Loveland.

I think they are going to be fucking sweet!

Ummmmmm dude, Seth rides the same skis you and I do. No joke. You will see pics at the end of the month from SIA. They are wider than previous offerings, thinner than the beast itself, the Made'N. We also have sick stuff going on when you see the skis up close as well as some new technology never applied in skis. Stay tuned........

 
^ no he doesn't. there were actually 4 different flex patterns originally produced for this year's pistols and Seth chose the second from the flexiest for the public, but he rides one that is noticeably stiffer. think about it...you ride pistols, they are pretty soft. could you imagine going mach 2 down the lines Seth does on those, not happening.

Vicious is 97mm at the waist, or was during prototype runs according to someone reliable (but if Schmies says otherwise, listen to him as always). Secondly, the Vicious is replacing the Pistol, which to the best of my knowledge will no longer be available. Thirdly, Scoot, you're a moron. Seth's skis are not from a different stock from the consumer's. Tell your source to stop talking out of his ass.

Lastly... to whoever said something about the name being a science term meaning 'clear', I pray you were joking. I'm sure this is obvious to everyone, but just in case: the Seth Pistol was a less-than-subtle reference to the Sex Pistols. Sid Vicious was the Sex Pistols' lead singer. Thus, Seth Vicious.

I think guddulf meant that the way it was spelled, it meant clear. however, if you correct the spelling from viscous(clear) to vicious, it is a reference to the sex pistols and sid vicious.

yeah the vicious will be under 100 under foot, seth explained this becasue of a marketing issue where skis over 100 under foot have poor sales becasue more of the ski market will shy away from such a massive ski.

The term escapes me but it has a sidecut adopted from snowboarding that makes the ski more versatile.

on another note isn't 'viscious' the scientific word relate to the opticial illusion that you see when you try to read a water measurement out of a test tube? it forms a concave arch and you are supposed to read the bottom of the arch isn't that a viscious? it's been a while since chemistry class.

And as far the the new seth pro model, can't wait to see them, and seth rides the same productions skis as everyone else.

On the K2 message boards, the man himself, said his new ski is 98 underfoot. And Scoot...go read the K2 factory team website, Seth says it himself, he skis the same pistols we do.

Go to the k2 factory team site, check out the forums. You'll find all the info that is available on them as Seth himself has dropped a few details.

from what I remember from K2's forums, Seth said it was 3mm wider in the waist (which would make it 98), also he said that the ski would be more skier freindly (meaning that the skier would control the ski more, as opposed to the ski controling the skier). Also, he said that it would remain a 14mm sidecut, but the changes making it more skier friendly were related to sidecut.

Also, Seth himself just recently got the 189's so I'm not sure if they are gonna mid-season release em, but we'll see, K2 might be able to pull it off if they so choose.

Personally, I'm just waiting for SIA to find out more info about em.

Alright, JD is wrong about Sid, and SnowtrailsMark is only a bit closer. Sid was given a bass and allowed to travel with the band and 'play' at shows, but knew nothing of music for the most part and was just their as a friend.
