I was wondering if anyone could give me a comparison of the seth pistol to the pocket rocket. I ride the pocket rockets now and i love them and how the ride pow and groomer really good, the pistols look very similer but just fatter, so whats the deal? do the pistols hold an edge on the groomer?

the pistols rock, thats all i know, ive never skied the pocket rockets but i demoed next years pistols and they rule on groomers, in the trees, in pow obviously and they are pretty nice for the park

depends which year you plan on getting.

ive had the pocket rockets, and the 03-04 pistols, along with the 04-05s.

the 04-05s are stiffer than the 03-04s, by a lot (at least i thought so) could hold more of an edge, and it was such a fun ski.

my pocket rockets were soooo flimsy compared to these. the 03-04 pistols are more like the pistols, and the 04-05s are more like mad trix compared to the pocket rockets and the 03-04s, thats my comparison anyways.

I ride pistols, tbeyre like the most fun ski you can imagine. they do it all, rule the pow obviously, but they rip groomers too and hold sweet edges on those huge arcing turns. They smash through the crud, they just do it all. I demoed the PR's in banff for like 8 days last year, and this year i took the pistols out once and it felt kinda like the rocket but like 10X better in every aspect, so i bought them, and have never regretted it.

i would compare the pistol more with the arv's or mo ships...noones talks about mo ships anymore.

IM just really cautious about skis, after trying the big daddys which look sick in the shop, and are in the pow, but on groomer you can barley stop.

one more positive vote for the pistols. i love em. in the park on the groomers they rip and in the powder....oh my....just awsome. and the definately take them over a pair of pocket rockets because K2 makes abetter ski. its all about the wood core. the pistols will last forever(or until you break em) but foam core skis lose their spring and life pretty quickly.
