hey i got some pistols (179)and im trying to decide where to mount them. i live in jackson so obviously i want them to ski pow goood but i also want them mounted somewhere where itll be decent in the park and landin switch, any suggestions?

 
+5, that's what Seth rides at. Since the pistol has a soft tip you can't mount forward with worrying about major nose dive in pow

how tall are you? id probably mount the 179 at +3 (mine are mounted at mid sole, but i want to change that) the shorter you are, the more you can put them more forward.

seth rides the 189 at +5.

West is Best.
 
^like he said they have a softer tip, so you can go forward.. I went +3 on 169's.

Check out the public enemy mounting thread in ski gabber. its based off a 179 pe, but i imagine it fairly similar for the pistol too.

i still say +5 if you want to do a fair amount of park, and ski switch like a gangsta. my buddy has his at +3 and he said he wished he went even a little more forward.

why how would this make the ride different cause i think i'm getting used to it but i haven't spun much yet on them and would this make the rotations more stable

it makes a huge difference skiing switch. i mount forward of centre for park and core for everything else

why would you mount forward of core center? that would give you a longer tail than tip, which would actually hinder spinning more than help it as well as your balance on rails???

i remounted mine at like +5 or 6, they are soooo much better now
