Seth Morrison & our sport.

"i have decided that Seth morrison's 100ft plus back flip that he stomps

may or may not be the sickest thing ever. I have been watching that

clip for years, ever sense focused came out, but it still holds up. I

mean can you think of anything that compares, for god sake he fucking

skis away clean after going huuuge, like beyond big. it is so sick and

it happened 5 years ago. what?!? the sport may be progressing but i

not sure that can be topped."

- quoted from a buddy.

And he has a point. Morrison makes skiing look, well, beautiful. I can't think of any other skier, whether in the park or big mountain, that can make charging a line look so smooth. He is truly a god among men.

^ Exactly what I was gonna post.

You've gotta watch Steep. What an inspirational movie. Just... wow.

Seth Morrison is easily the most legendary skier of our generation. Just like Glen Plake (who still shreds like a mad man) in my dad's generation. Every time I see a movie of him, I get stoked to ski. Not even to ski park, but just to ski.

he got a 80 ft backie in the cascades, and liek 3-4 60-70ft fronties in AK. and thats just shit i gelaned from pics and helmetcams. his seg in tgr is going to be like #2 or 3 behind SM3 and focused.

Ya that was so sick, don't forget that double front off that 130fter. sure he didn't land it but that was fucking nuts!

im really tempted to say he did land that, since he came down perfect but his skis exploded off from the impact

The double front he threw in believe was nothing but textbook, too bad no skis in existence could take the force.

Its truly amazing what he does. But I think that once he can no longer take these huge airs he does, that Enak Gavaggio will be the next big mountain freestyler. His segment in enjoy was mind blowing and I dare say some of his linclons are smoother then Seths. Once he starts getting bigger fronts and backs then I think he will be just a step or two below the god of big mountain, seth.

And might I add that his GIANT front flip while clearing a crevasse in Lost & Found was so ballsy.

Im pretty sure that guy in enjoy ate shit on his big lincon, and hes just starting doing this stuff now, not to say that he isnt sick but seth was rodeoing cliffs bigger than other guys who were straight airing like 6 years ago
and focused was the dopest movie ever, mike wilson is the shit in that movie

if you brake a full set of 916 by landing something on your feet it means you should not be walking away from it... but seth did...

the double front in believe gave him some broken ribs, the article in this years freeskier talks about it. nobody actually thought he was serious when he was scoping it out. he had to clear soo much rock on that cliff and the landing was pretty mellow.

yeah i skied that area and talked with a guide who was there the day he threw it. according to her he spent the entire day scoping it, and when he skied down after he told her "i think i broke my ribs" like his shoelaces were untied

Nobody will ever be as good, or at least as pioneering as seth in the big mountain arena. He has consistently done shit that nobody else would think possible, in a manner that nobody else has managed to imitate for his entire career. many will tell you it just takes cojones but that would be erroneous- if it wasn't for his immense skill he would be dead no questions. His balls open the gate for what he does, his skill takes him through that gate and takes him through safely and stylishly.

f anybody is on Seth's level (in incorporating ridiculous triicks into huge lines) it will be Eric Hoji or Sage. Hopefuly in the future, Kye too. but no matter how good they become, Seth will always be remembered as the greatest big mtn freestyler.

yea man seth is a legend....amazing what he has done for this sport and i think hes still got some great skiing to come in the next few years...him and tanner are a good combo, I dont think tanner is going to ever really hit shit as big as seth but hes definitely pushing the sport in the direction it needs to be going in.

i'm so pumped to see his helmetcam from AK. watching helmetcam from roner in AK, its rediculous throwing tricks there. i've skied alta a bunch teh past couple years, and i plan on throwing tricks on some legit cliffs next year (semi claim, there is a point coming)...but jesus christ the lines in ak are so fucking steep, andif you fuck up the landing...you tomahawk for at least 500 feet, maybe 1000 feet. its out of fucking control how intense that is.

No doubt. Seth is a freak. Hoji's segment in enjoy was dope. Kye picking up where Seth leave's off, would be nothing short of poetic justice given his pop's passing. Who's Kye shooting with this year?

eh i really disagree. Enak had a pretty dope segment but he doesnt really charge like seth and a lot of other big mountain guys do. and his tricks were off pretty small features

His skis took the force, but his bindings actually exploded. They stayed drilled into the skis but all that remained was a post with four screws. SO crazy. That picture still looks fake. I show it to people that don't really ski and they don't believe it, ha.

No doubt

Seth = Living legend

How the hell can his body take that shit...what a guy

Seth is da man! I remember when he used to bust through Breck's preseason park (like 6 years ago) laying out backflips & lincolns. Such a cool guy, craziest day I had was skiing at Vail with him, you don't realize how fast he rips the mountain until you try and keep up with him. From what I've heard, he's been doing retarded shit this year, huge flips, huge cliffs, big lines, all stomped.

pretty nice sage helmutcam. some gaper loses his balance going off a huge cliff at the end....i think he went upside down!
