MANDATORY HUCK:
SETH MORRISON
SELKIRK WILDERNESS, BC
We were on a big Oakley shoot with Tanner Hall, Anthony Boronowski and Seth, basing ourselves in the powder capital of the world, Nelson, BC. Seth really wanted to find a big dull he was getting tired of jumping small stuff and just skiing the trees.
He pointed out the cliff on the backside of Selkirk’s terrain, and no one thought he was serious. He definitely was, The cliff was not sheer and the takeoff was terrible, He had to hit it with so much speed just to clear the rocks, and It was probably around 150 feet to air by the time he landed. He did a double frontflip directly to his feet; tour-point landing. He broke a rib and his ski ejected, but that’s about as close as you can gel to stomping an air of that size. He certainty didn't do the air-to-back that lots of the big cliff jumping skiers do.
It was terrible shot. no contrast and a rocky background, so the shot isn't pretty, but if you look closely you can get a feel for the sheer magnitude of the air.
Seth is one of those guys that you never really know what is going on in his head, but when he says he’s going to do something, he follows through. I don’t think that for one second he oven questioned what he was doing. I am glad that I was on the other end of the camera... you couldn’t pay me any amount of money to attempt that one. — chris o'connell
