Seriously FUCK SOPA

I've been helping run a music blog for about a year and half now. We've never really had a problem with copyright infringement until the coming of this new year, and the huge SOPA/PIPA retaliation. We'd been using Mediafire as a file hosting source for over a year before our account was suspended for having "illegal" downloads. The files they brought to our attention were in fact stolen so we never fought it, just hopped on over to another file hosting site FileFactory. Turns out SOPA's seriously cracking down, because within a week we had another file hoster suspending our account. This time files brought to our attention were a mixture of tracks given out for free, and stolen downloads. Again we didn't fight it, because of the stolen music. We've since switched to Hulkshare, and haven't been uploading ANY stolen music to our site.

(Today)

I get an email explaining our "First Strike" with Hulkshare over a song that's free all over the internet.. wtf.

My rage comes from having to go back through every post we've ever made and reupload the song and insert DL links into them. If that sounds tedious try doing it twice, and now potentially a third time.

Also has anyone found it harder to find direct DL links to albums recently as well?

But still FUCK SOPA.

Not gonna lie, I didn't read that.

Damn man, thats some whackness. I just checked out your blog though and you got some bangin shit on there. Im definitely gonna be visiting often to check out the music. FUCK SOPA!

Not yet, but it's on the list of next options if Hulkshare falls through.

Although I did email Hulkshare back with a direct link from the artist, and they revoked the strike against us which is nice.

That's an awful idea. Mainly because you can't support embedded MP3 players with torrents, and a whole bunch of other reasons.
