Seriously,,,,are there any girls that can spin all four ways and slide both ways?

One more time... it would help your skiing by giving you a good takeoff for spinning switch downpipe, because you don't want to come across the pipe switch looking over your uphill shoulder, make sense?

But if you truly believe that "A switch "blindside" three is the same exact thing as a normal switch 3" then don't worry about it, sounds like you can already do it.

Guess that means that anyone who can spin a switch 9 can already do it either normal or blindside since according to you they are "exactly the same thing".
 
i have to agree with tride on this one, amazingly. sw 3 and sw blindside 3 are 2 completely different tricks. anyone who disagrees, obviously can't do blindside or at least has never tried it. i mean come on, you are completely blind to the take-off doing a blindside, hence the name. regular sw 3 you can spot the lip of the jump the entire way.
 
stop hatin on them man, can you dance around in a pink tutu like them?? you dont see them braggin about it all the time!
 
It's true about it being better in the pipe but everywhere else it's just a preference of yours.
 
you havent seen this years girl segments do you? I know leskinnen only does 360 mute in here segs and always have, but there are more girls then her and they got skills..sarah,grete,michelle and so on

yes there is a tiny tiny difference, but it is not a different trick.

Its like if you are doing a mute and you grab with one finger instead of four ect.,

it is still the same trick.

hell some people look under their shoulder when coming into jumps switch instead of over. does that means its a different trick ? no. just becuase looking one way in the pipe may be easier doesnt not mean it is a new trick. A skiier still takes off in the exact same way as he would if he where looking normally.
 
yeah sw blindside 3 and sw 3 are different like natty 3 and unnaty 3. the same , but different. understand the logic now?
 
why stop at 6 variations of a 360? why not have another verion with your wrist rotated 180 degrees, so the pole is sticking out at an odd angle? or maybe have one leg switch, and the other in a normal stance? or you could stick your middle finger in the air, and.... whoa look at that!!! it is a whole new rotation!!! wow!!! I think I just proved you all wrong! there isn't 4 or 6, but actually 42 different rotations!!! damn I'm good, and I havn't even started yet. Maybe you could braid one of your hairs, and would you look, there is another 12 variations depending on which way your head is turned. I'm done
 
OK, for a normal switch 3 your head and shoulders are facing the landing for basically the entire trick, so you can take-off, spin the hips, and land switch while spotting the landing the entire time. So... it can be done with little or no rotation of the head and shoulders.

For blindside sw 3, your head and shoulders need to rotate at least 360 (probably more like 400 or so). Stand there and try it, you'll see what I mean).

To me that seems like a substantial difference, but whatever.

I like to play with spinning all 4 ways, and then I also work on the 2 blindsides sometimes, it's challenging and fun. In my mind it certainly FEELS like 6 different spins, each with it's own set of challenges.

Sorry if that really pisses you all off, I never said that the "newchoolers rulebook" needs to be changed so that it says there are 6 spins instead of 4. In fact this whole thing started because I mentioned that Sarah was doing all 6 spins at Momentum Camp this summer.

Let me re-phrase then.... Sarah was doing all 4 spins at momentum this summer, and she was also doing both of her switch spins normal and blindside. Are you happy now? Does that fit within your criteria?

when you say spin all four ways what do you mean, I normaly think of natural and unnatural, are you also including corks and unnatural corks. What are the other 2 ways?
 
First off, I don't really understand all the hostility in this discussion, it's just an opinion.

Second, I give up. Yeah, switch blindside is no different than normal switch spins (that's why everyone can do both so well). The extra 360 or so that your head and shoulders have to do really is no different than grabbing with a couple more fingers.

No you don't have to learn it to be able to tell your friends that you can spin all directions, but it sure didn't hurt Andreas Hatveit when he won the big hit comp at the world ski invitational last year by spinning a switch 7 down the pipe.

I'm done now, seriously.
