Serious Problem - Please Help

Ok, here is my problem. I have the K2 Seth Pistols, with the Look P12 bindings...now my problem is that the brakes for the P12's are too narrow to fit over the waist of the pistol. I called my local ski shops, and all of them say they refuse to alter the brake to fit the ski. Now what I need to know, are the brakes for the bindings universal? Will any Extra Wide brake fit the ski? How can I go about solving this?

Also, the season starts this Saturday, and I still don't have my skis mounted.

the shop should be able to get you wider brakes that can replace the ones that are there now. They probably just don't want the headache.

Also, talk to your shop and see if they'll do it if you sign a waiver of liability. That way they are not held accountable and might be more prone to do it.

If it comes down to it, you could heat them and re-bend the brakes.

I have had the same problem. I went to my shop and they didnt want to help, so I just modified the brakes myself. It was ugly but it works.

i know salomon and rossignol have wide breaks for their bindings and since look and rossignol bindings are the same their should be some brakes you can use. Its a little extra money though.

If it was me I would have thought about that before I bought the bindings. But since your in that predicament I would just heat the bend in the brakes until it's soft enough to bend, bend it out away from the base of the brake, then cool it off with water. Thats the reason I bought S912 ti's with a wide brake with my Pocket Rockets.

 
My Explosives needed extra wide brakes and my store just ordered some for me... it was 8 bucks and took less than a week to get. They were for look p10's. Just ask them to order up a pair.

 
Well I endered up ordering the Rossi wide brakes, can anyone tell me how wide they are? Will they accomodate a 95mm waist?

should have checked that before you ordered em, but I would think so, the wide brakes I ordered (marker) supposedly should have no problem with 92 under foot, so I would think they'd all be about the same.

 
Well I know the solomon ones are good for like 80-95, i would figure the rossi are the same

i know close to nothing about how pistols ride, buti woudn;t fool around with mounting position with a powder ski...

dude yer shop must have some major ass holes working in it to not help you out, they could probly order the brake for you, and it wouldnt be that hard to put on your self

i say get rid of the p12's...in my opinion they are trash...this is my second season riding on mine and they keep giving me problems.

 
Mounted my pistols 2cm back, they feel like magic, well balenced and sh*t.

making your normal break wider makes it stick out...it could catch on something (because they stick out like a bitch) and you break your knee and your mommy can sue the shop...LOOK makes a wide break for like 15 bucks...i got them last year...

My old XXX i never had the binding got the binding fix I was just waiting for my ski to come off and take out a little 4 year old kid but the damn ski broke ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh the computer fucked upppppppppppp!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There is no such thing as shitty snow there is only shitty skiers.
