Serendipity - My Summer Timelapse Project

Timelapse videos over 1min bore me, im sure OP you appreciate it more/like watching them more since you make them but I think this whole craze of making long timelapse videos needs to end.

That being said, you had some really good lapses in there but some were also quite boring. Maybe cut it down? Not sure if youre trying to use it as a promo or something.
 
I'm going to do a detailed crit because I feel like it and don't want to do my homework

I'm skipping the fluff, just ways to improve and favorite shots, it's my opinion, take it for whatever you want

Overall, it was too long

Some compositions weren't very effective or interesting

The movements got a bit repetitive

Best/favorite shots:

:32 Maybe try a little longer shutter for some creamier water

:47 but I think you might have started it too early

2:20

2:53

3:08, this motion works nicely

Cut:

:17 went on for too long

1:14 already saw this same comp

1:24 this comp is kind of awkward/uninteresting

1:32 not the most interesting shot

other:

1:43 had some flickering and went on for too long

2:00-2:20 is part of where i feel that the motion is a little bit too forced and repetitive, partly because they aren't the most interesting shots
 
dang fail post.

Needs color grading. Many shots can be taken out. Keep the bangers. That is a statement I try to live by, and it has drastically helped me cut down the length of all my edits. Also makes them seem so much more next level and leaves the viewer wanting more. Wanting more is always better than getting too much.

Also I prefer timescapes.

@ehv I know what your saying, I have seen A LOT of really long ones though so I am not really sure how I feel haha thanks for the input though!

@sklar Thanks so much for your detailed critique! Things definitely got repetitive with movements and comps, it was my first one so I didn't really know what I wanted. I was trying to edit with the song and it ended up being pretty long but ill try and improve for my next one! Thanks!

@Moosen I'm not sure what you mean by "color grading", I edited all the timelapses in LR but I'm not sure if color grading would have really helped? But yea i definitely should have shortened it. Thanks!
