Say I have a .avi file of a TV show and I want to isolate the audio track from it... store it as an mp3 or wav or something. How would I go about doing that? Anyone know of a particular program that would allow it?

Run an audio recording program while you are playing the video file? I'm sure theres probably and easier way to do it though.

such a program does exist, i forget the name right now, i'll ask my computer savy friend tonight.

if you have premier...just load it in there

right clik and clik unlink

and then just delete the video

and export the audio?

Hmm.. I will do that but I think I would need a more permanent solution.

my dad downloaded a program that does it very well, saves the audio as mp3s. i'll have to ask him what it is again next time i talk to him.

Video editing programs should work- premiere, final cut, etc.  For another solution maybe try posting this in Media & Arts- there are a lot of smart computer people that post in that forum.
