Sent in the first college

Got apps going in to UW Law and Seattle University Law in the next week or two, sending a few more out to some out of state schools over the next month. Definitely gets on the nerves a bit.

not doing the early decision or whatever you did. but i need to apply here soon and i have no idea what to do..

just applied to st mikes. theyre giving me 20,000 dollars. just sent out early action apps to st mikes, la salle, and suny esf ranger school

AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH COLLEGE...FUUUUUUU-

gotta finish my recruiting visits and then see if i can get support from any coaches

me too. I think I'm gonna go for upenn because they don't require subject tests if you submit an ACT, but Cornell does. My subject test scores suck, but my act isn't bad

St. Mikes, UVM, RPI, Colorado School of Mines, possibly MIT (long shot, but I've wanted to go there since I was little), UNH, maybe 1 other school

i'm deciding between applying early to dartmouth, brown, princeton, or stanford and it all depends where i can get support from the coach. otherwise there is no way in hell i'd get into any of those schools

im taking the sat 2's again on saturday

the problem with that is...since he got a 1900 on the SAT, Slo (being an awesome state school) would disregard the writing portion of it, which could potentially make it harder to get in to.

honestly tho, dont trip about which is the better college...you're gonna get into a school and be in the top something % of America thats continuing to get a higher education. GL with wherever you end up

I go there!!! but i'm graduating and movin west, so we will probably never meet.

great school though. glad I went here

well, now that I've read the whole thread I see a bunch of people applying to st. mikes. don't worry, if I got in you probably can too. I didn't care much for work or standardized tests in high school.

moral of the story is..come to st. mikes. join the shred club, get the basically free smuggs pass and a cheap stowe pass, and have the best 4 years of your life. PM me if you have questionssss

You won't get into any CA schools, bro. I got a 33 on the ACT and a 22something on the SAT and I didn't even bother applying because they want a 3.8 AT LEAST from out of state students. CA sucks, too, you really don't want to live there.

Applying to UCs if you are out of state isn't a good idea. They aren't offering any financial aid to OOS and they are much more selective than they should be. You'd stand a better chance of getting into better schools if you are out of state

ya they love crew. my gf's boat has been winning everything, so shes trying to get into penn or columbia for cox (lol)
good luck man, chem is gonna spank the crap out of me

early descision = Nov 1

regular = jan 1 i think.

and no. people dont like to wait till the last second deadlines. Youll have a much better chance getting in if you send it in mid oct rather than the very end cause thats when EVERYBODY is gonna

way to be positive ;)

but seriously, no reason to be nervous and stress about it, whats done is done. my mindset was that i was going to get rejected from my choices that way i would have no disappointments. to my surprise though, i only got rejected by one and that was columbia, and that was because i sent that in way late, like a few months past deadline.

kinda surprising seeing how many kids are looking at schools in philly. i went to lasalle and skied 4-5 days a week all four years. basically after freshman year, depending on your major, it's pretty easy to have class only 3 days a week, and most friday classes are done by noon. bear creek is a little over an hour's drive, blue mountain is about an hour and a half, and boulder about an hour 45, so you've got three options with decent parks all less than 2 hours away. if you don't have a car though, you're pretty much screwed unless you can find a ride. as fun as it would have been to go to school in utah, CO, or the PNW and ski much better terrain, i'm glad i went to a good school. i still skied a bunch. i think i would have blown off class to ski far too often going to school where it actually snows. philly's got killer urban though.

same with UC davis, although still pretty far from skiing, but a 1-2hr drive to tahoe is not bad at all. considering how long the season is. and 2hrs from big bear. but why would you go there if you could go to tahoe.

like 1500, kinda shitty haha. they have a good connection with my school and i have a really good resume of community service like working at the hospital and hospice so since their really big on volunteering they sent me a letter saying they liked my activities and wanted me to use their standout student application. my grades are somewhat average so im guessing its the resume and my kickass essay that'll hopefully get me in

ya, i got the standout student app as well.

my sat grades were kinda shitty too. like they are acceptable but still i wonder since they are sat optional if not sending them in would be better

do you have an act to send in...they say optional but really they still kinda want them/if you send em in you got a better chance i think

ya

im doing uvm early

and then union, lafayette, lehigh, villanova, and possibly carnegie mellon as a serious reach
