Here's the deal.......

April 21st and/or 22nd (first weekend of vacation for most high schools)

NS style take over of tuckermans

burgers, food, sun, skiing. Its going to be epic. Pass the word to your crew, message everyone you know, and cram everyone into the minivan. If your planning to go this spring or have always wanted to, GO THAT WEEKEND.
 
this actually sounds like a really sick idea. i've never actually skied tucks and i live like 20 mins away. this would be a good excuse to finally go up.
 
yeah but as late april roles around it should soften up? maybe we should move it to a weekend in late may?
 
no i think that will be too late. Its snowing now but it will be back to spring conditions. I skied it 2 weeks ago and it was perfect spring conditions. The 21st sounds perfect.
 
so whats the deal when you go up there.I know that you park and then hike up to the base area but how long does that take? and then can you leave some stuff that you dont have to carry when you hike or would somebody probably snag it?
 
its about a 2 hour hike to the bowl if you are going at a good pace. If ur in bad shape and take breaks it will be longer. I have never heard of anything being taken from there. From the bowl it takes about an hour to hike to the top of the bowl.
 
everyone i met hiking is always really nice, there not the kind of people to steal stuff, but that doesnt mean your stuff wont get stolen.
 
it depends on what your leaving if its a camera or something then there is a good chance someone will snag it but if its cloths i think you good
 
im headed up to tucks on saturday for class so ill give everybody an update on conditions. Dumping like crazy right no so I hope the snowpack is stable.
 
I went up their in early march. I made the best run of my life their. My friend were hiking up the bowl and when we were ready to strap in, we realized that it was to steep to strap in. we ended up digging a hole to make a flat surface and then strapped in. when you make turns on something that steep, you get air. its so fun.
 
avy will be very low prolly, but its gonna be full of ice traps, streams and generally bad snow, it looks now how it usually lookes at the beginning of june...
 
DON'T GO THIS WEEKEND Its the Inferno race pentathlon. It will be a fucking zoo. Not a good weekend. I'm still going tomorrow, and will try to report tomorrow night how it was.
 
Today was excellent. The right gully and right head wall were the best. People were sliding out in the bowl.

yeah i did right headwall. It was such a nice day. Did anybody else see 2 guys straightline from 3/4 up the main bowl.
