Soo this is another cool thread about what size skis to should get.... I have skied since i could walk so im definitely comfortable on the snow.. I raced(worst days of my lifee!) tell i was 15 so i have skied super long skis for downhill races I picked up the whole park scene bout 2 years ago... I am 5'7 & weigh 125-130 (and im full of muscle haha) Anyways sooo 2 years ago i was skiing on 171 skis & last year i skied on 161. I get shit from everyone because of how small they look on me.. that doesnt bother me because i just have so much fun on them.. BUT everyone i have talked to said i would benefit in the park (and all around) from longer skis( they think i need to go back to my 171)
So now i need to make a choice if im gonna buy new skis that are longer then the current length i ski on or if im gonna buy skis the same length i ski on already.
Can you guys give me some input on this?! How much of a difference is that longer ski going to make when im on rails and hitting jumps?!? im torn.. oh and btw (i don't need suggestions regarding what brand i should get cause im in love with LINE! )
THANKS GUYS =))

yeah i was scared of getting longer skis at first, but now i like my skis long. just center mount them and theyll feel short

go with longer, symmetrical skis and center mount em. they look dope and they ski short. as cute as u are, i can't see u getting much shit for having short skis...

nvm on second thought i'd prob be one of the guys givin u shit about it.

go long. i'm 5'9 150lbs and ski 181s. pretty much the same background as u so ya kno...

id go with the 171 since you're plenty experienced on skis, you'll like the length on jumps and would be perfect for 125lbs of fine

Line symmetrical skis? Afterbangs! Or invaders or anthems if you feel like going that way. Or the girl equivalent of those skis if you want.

well right now im skiing on knubby little fucks and i hate them. so try to find a pair thats about up to your eyebrows of forhead my last demos were a 161 from a 151 so major improvement

afterbangs would actually probably be good for you. AND they come in 166, which is smack in between 161 and 171. I'd be sold if i were you, even though their not a womens ski but who cares!

I'd go with a longer ski, it doesn't have to be 171, it could be 165, 166, 169, or even 170. They are different at first, but they can be more fun when they're longer.

longer!i'm 5'2, and i ski on 171's...it definitely wouldn't hurt to go for longer than a 161, whatever size that may be

Afterbang in 166 or the girls invader from last year (shadow?) in a 171 maybe? You'd be fine on 165-171s.. Nothing wrong with riding 161s at 125 pounds though.

id go up to the longer length... you wont wash out as easy, get some 171 anthems... soft symetrical ski

so you can center mount which will make them feel shorter, and it wont be too much ski for you

go to getboards and get the octolands or the spirals (i have octos, best jib ski everrrr!)

hope this helped

You will benefit from a longer skis for sure. When i went from skiing 169s to 177s and i can tell a huge difference. By the way, you are gorgeous.

If your a 5'7 Girl I'd say don't go 171everyone says big skis are better but in reality they can look just as silly as small skis and don't give you the benefit of being able to spin faster. Yes, a slightly larger ski may help you out with landings and what not but at the most I'd say 165's

thanks for this advice too. so i guess this leads me to another question... so a ski that size(171) will not be to my advantage when spinning in the air but will it be to my advantage on rails? or is it not going to make that big of a difference?

I am 6'2 175 lbs and I ski on 172 Line Anthems, mounted dead center, and they are PERFECT in my opinion. If i were you i would go with the 161. My buddy who is 5'11" 180 lbs used to have 161 Chronics and they were slightly too short for him in his opinion, and he is on 172's now and loves them. so a 161 should be perfect for you for real park skiing. if you're looking for something that'll get after it in the pow as well, maybe slightly longer but 172 is pretty long for someone your size in my opinion. In the end it is all personal preference.

thanks again for all the advice! you all helped alot... decided to go with 166 afterbangs.. baby steps haha, just kidding. but i think theyre gonna be perfect! sooo excited .. ahhh

obviously i dont know you but my sugestion is the 166 afterbangs would definetly give you tons of props on the hill for being a girl with bangers for 5,7 i think the would be the perfect length but if not definetly dont be afraid to go bigger, bigger skis = bigger stezze the only main difrence is that you might find spining slightly more dificult

meaning switch ups butters ect. but you will got used to it as long as they are center mounted it wont make a diffrence on rails trust me once you get used to hucking a little more it will be same diffrence oh and i meant that where the word the sticks out lol

If you like skiing on 161s keep skiing 161, who effing cares what other people think, if you are having fun that is all that matters :) . Im 6'1 and I ski 171s for my park skis.

no offense but stfu you obviously have no understanding of skiing well haveing fun is the most important fun the right equipment is gunna make you have a lot more of it
