Selective saturation

I'm trying to figure out how to use selective saturation I have premiere pro and after effects cs4. I couldn't find any tutorials or descriptions on how to do it, is it even possible on cs4? some info would be great!

Just make a mask in AE, then apply saturation adjustment to the mask.

Although I don't see why anyone would want to do selective saturation when you could just use curves to make certain colors pop.

I think he might want to only have some things in color and the rest b&w, not just adjusting saturation.

oooh that thing.

My advice is to stay away from gimmicks. But if you insist, then just create a mask over the section you want, and within that mask use a chroma key to pick your color. bam.

it's pretty easy actuallyin premiere go to Video Effects > Image Control > Color Passjust drag it onto the clip you want and choose on the settings what color you want to pass and the similarity...i have it on cs3 and i don't recall it was removed on cs4..

The only problem with this is that it keys the entire frame. If you just want to make a certain thing have color, you need to use masks.
