Seinfeld + Microsoft = ?

Read it in the paper today, Jerry Seinfeld just signed a $10 M dollar one year contract to work with microsoft doing advertisements with Bill Gates. They (Toronto Star) were going on about how Gates is trying to keep the remaining "students" and youth that have not already made the apple switch and attempt to draw back some previous boat jumpers. It is an estimated $300 M one year advertising expense. Shit... So whats everyone think about seinfeld jumping on this? He had (i dunno if he still holds to date) the world record for biggest one year contract for a TV show for a last season of Seinfeld and if i remember correctly it was 27 million dollars. So turn down 27 M with Seinfeld but pick up 10 M same length term deal with Microsoft? BS. (regardless if its not 27 M it was way higher then the 10M microsoft deal, thats what i was getting at)
 
i didn't make that clear. he turned down the one year 27 Million dollar contract.

He's probably like, whatever ya sure i'll do these commercials they will be fun.

Rather then doing 52 shows (i know it would be less, but it probably still drains you).
 
yeah writing and acting 52 shows would blow. yeah i know its 27 million, but hes already rich enough to be happy and spend time doing things he loves.
 
i like mac, i own one. but i think it would be fucking awesome if microsoft hired the same guys that did the mac comercials and just bashed mac like the did for pc. i just hated those commercials and i think it woulld be sick
 
Yeah Apple ad's are terrible...i dunno why everyone eats that shit up so much.

But the iPod touch is fucking bomb. Props to apple for that
 
microsoft is paying huge sums of money to wat ive heard is an extremely succesful marketing group, their definately going to try to turn the mac commercial on themsleves
 
if microsoft plans to turn future generations away from apple they have got alot of work to do. i talk to people almost on a daily basis who are switching to apple and really happy about it. get to work gates and seinfeld....those better be some funny as commercials...
 
i can see it now, a bunch of slightly obvious observations:

"whats the deal with open-source operating systems?!"

"have you ever noticed that Mac users always wear sandals?"

etc...
 
i laughed but it was because it was so random and I had no idea what was going on. Was I missing something or was it supposed to be just weird?
 
i thought that was so fucking retarded, i can almost guarantee half of the people who saw it had no idea what it was about. terrible marketing by microsoft

i think he turned down seinfield because he got bored of it. i wasn't keeping track but it was a pot load of seasons about...nothing. Thats the quirk but I think he wanted to take an indefinite break. Maybe this gig with bill gates is a change of pace that still makes him a bunch of money.

The ads are just an icebreaker, he ads, to reintroduce Microsoft to consumers. Later this month they’ll do a deeper dive, which I assume means talking about features.

and if you dont like apple fine, if you dont like pc, fine... i have an XP desktop, a mac mini running leopard, and im on my laptop running vista, i paid for them all, i run music and games off the desktop, and edt on my mac, and then use my laptop for everything else, and honestly, i love all 3 of them... stop your bitching

 
That last one was hilarious, but it doesn't make me want to use vista. It just reminds me how I miss seinfeld.
