Seeking your help to develop an eco-friendly Ski-wax

Hey Guys,

I'm Anirudh M, a chemical engineering master's student from the university of Groningen (RUG), Netherlands. Our group (we are a group of three) are doing a research project wherein we are trying to formulate an eco-friendly ski-wax. We would like your help on this if you guys are willing to take your time to fill this survey as it would guide us in the right direction to come up with a feasible solution.

I have attached the link to the form for your reference.

Feel free to post your questions / queries if you have any.

Cheers,

Anirudh M

Better not be some mountian flow type shit. Sick idea though. Some of the questions are a little goofy, what does "Do you use a ski-wax for every run" mean?

XC/Nordic skiers will apply specific waxes for a single race/event for performance gains. I'm thinking the survey is targeting more than one skiing sub-discipline

A forum dedicated to riding rails, gravel, leaves and picnic tables might not be the place for a survey on racing wax ^^

But I do need some wax. My skis got smoked on a boulder and they are better suited for going uphill than downhill right now.

What was your main complaint with mountain flow wax? Just curious, used it in top of phantom this season and seems decent but haven’t directly compared to a traditional wax

Wears off really quick and isn't the greatest for Washington, we have pretty variable snow. My go to for the past 7 years has been ps5 and 6 from swix. Only need to wax twice a season. Pretty lit. If its real toasty out I'll slap on some ts10.

My biggest issue with eco wax is the incredible stickiness. Getting the residue off of scrapers while you're scraping is much more painful than standard waxes. And if you do it in a garage like I do, then some of the residue eventually sticks to the floor with the same pain level.
