Sounds intersesting but never happened in Afghanastan where al qaidia was based and they clearly state they are against our western culture and attitude. Although i dont agree with smoking skiier, i currently have a little more respect for him because he's not arbitrarily telling people that they have no right to post anything.

Anyways, onto the issue, i have heard from afgani people myself that the reason 911 happened, was that Saddam Hussein had issues himself against the United States, and used religion to get followers and plan out an attack. He made people believe that the United States was in violation of their religion and they were his to use. If people are such fanatics about their religion, it is very easy to use them.

Comparing whites hating blacks in the slavery days to middle eastern terrorists isn't quite fair. Whites believed that they were truly superior and that blacks were an inferior race thats purpose was to serve whites. I don't think there's anything suggesting that middle eastern terrorists are superior to americans and that therefore americans should automatically be hated. Sure, some people will automatically hate america, but do you really think it will be enough to spend your life trying to destroy america? probably not. Terrorism against america will most likely be a result of provocation, or being persuaded that america is fundamentally evil because of a violation of religion.

I don't think that every middle easterns religion is teaching them to hate america, just the terrorists probably. maybe that was what you were saying, and it that case my bad.

I do think that we really need to get the UN to look into the terrorist problem, rather than the US wasting resources on a huge problem that faces the whole world. We've spent billions of dollars going into countries like Iraq that if they were imminent threats at all(rumsfield has left us confused on that one), should be dealt with UN support, or at least without opposition.

Terrorism is, however, not as big of a threat as it seems. A lot of media hype and the fact that americans are victims have put terrorism in the front of our minds, while there are many other pressing problems in the world.

Wether or not America was looked down upon for Isolationism is kind of vauge. Regardless, America went to fight in world wars 1 and 2 because there were ACTUALY LEGIT global security concerns.

It wasn't our President making claims on inteligence that had already be proven as false.

We know long before september 11th the bush administration was planing for a war with Iraq and the subsequent occupation of the country. That decision having been made, he ran a campaign of misinformation and distorting inteligence, of hype and hysteria that led America into an unnecessary war.

He ignored reports from wepons inspectors, over rode objections from our allies, and overruled dsissenting views of our inteligence agencies. All in all its cost Hundreds of american lives, left thousands wounded, and untold numbers of Iraqi civilians dead. Oh and it had a nice price tag of over 100 billion dollars.

Before the war the prsident was repeatedly told there was no definitive evidence that Iraq possessed wepons of mass destruction. HE KNEW IRAQ WAS NOT A NUCLEAR THREAT. HE KNEW THERE WAS NO CONNECTION TO 9/11.

Bush claimed Iraq could not account for massive stockpiles of biological weapons, citing a prominent Iraqi defector WHO ACTUALY CONTRADICTED BUSH'S CLAIM! Bush made his claim durring a speach on october 7th 2002. The defector Hussein Karnal actualy told UN officials that all such weapons had been destroyed after the first gulf war, according to the transcript of his UN debreifing.

Bush emphatically stated that Iraq possessed 'dispersed' and 'weaponized' chemical weapons, DISPITE a report from his own Defense Intelligence Agency that 'there is no reliable information on wether Iraq is producing and stockpiling chemical weapons...' The presidents statement was made on 2/8/03 in a national radio address, long after the DIA's contrary assessment was made the previous September.

The president flatly stated that Iraq had purchased auminum tubes to be used for enriching uranium, when this erroneous view had ALREADY been disputed by top government technical experts. Bush's claim was made during his 10/07/02 speach. The dissent by top technical experts at the Department of Energy was publicly disclosed by former UN weapons inspector David Albright two months earlier.

Bush also claimed in his 2003 state of the union address that Iraq tried to purchase yellowcake uranium in Niger, even though the CIA had sent two memos to the white house 3 months earlier, raising SERIOUS DOUBT as to the validity of that claim.

Bottom line is Bush fought this war for his own reasons whatever those reasons might be. But I'm not here to talk about that.

no, he hasnt killed hundreds of thousands of people. Those mass buriel grounds that were found near baghdad were from a bloody revolution, and uprising which saddam had very little to do with until the end, and the US and Iran are hugely responsible for.

The kurds he killed 10's of thousands yes, but turkey, saudi arabia, russia etc, killed way more. You dont hear about that, because we are 'allies' with the biggest oil producer in the world, who is also the biggest supplier of terrorism in the world. Do you remember those blacked out pages from the terrorist report, those were all from saudi arabia.

I remember that americans bombed a 'bioweapon factory' somewhere and it turned out to be a soap factory. They didn't do shit for recoinnasance(spelling?) and still bombs away. That seems to be the american solution to everything. Bush thinks (well all the presidents have thought) that they are the police of the world. They have to be in total control:they go to war,and ask help from France,they deny any help,and suddenly,the French are terrorist protectors. I just don't get the point. Why destroy? I've seen clips of american soldiers walking down the streets of Baghdad and while pedestrians are throwing rocks at them:'Hey! We are americans! A-me-ri-cans! We are here to help you!' But seriously,how many countries has the US really helped and not brought destruction and terror?
