Thursday May 24th-An innocent bystander shot and killed in gang shooting at 4:30 in the afternoon. He was driving when the gang members shot him in the head, killing him instantly, all while his 2 small children and parents sat in the car with him.
Saturday May 26th-Innocent bystander was shot in the leg at Folklife because a gang member tried to shoot a rival gang member, but missed. The victim survived.
That night, 4 different drive by shootings happened in South Seattle, with 60-70 rounds shot in total.
Sunday May 27th-A man was shot in the chest at his grow op in North Seattle. The suspect then tried to break into a house close by and was later caught.
Another drive by happened in North Seattle that day, but the victim survived.
Tuesday May 29th-Another drive by shooting in South Seattle. No one was shot, but the 3 suspects were arrested.
Wednesday May 30th-A man walked into a coffee shop in the U-District, shooting 5 people, killing 2 instantly, 2 dying later in the day, and the 5th surviving in critical condition. He then got 5 miles south to downtown in 30 minutes. He shot a woman, killing her, and stealing her car. (The woman was a mother to 2 children at my school, 1 in my grade, and 1 in 6th grade) He drove to West Seattle, abandoning his car, leading police on a 3 hour search, and when they found him, he knelt down and shot himself.

In 2011, we had 20 homicides in the city. For 2012, we have had 21, 5 of which happened in a day. People are testing the Seattle Police Department for what they can get away with. Its about to be a violent summer.
