Seattle PD is out of control and our DA is lacking a spine.

Wow Vermont is number one? I feel like i'm surrounded by dipshit rednecks everywhere I go except Burlington.

yah, dont wear a beard with a trenchcoat, dont be a loud black woman to cops. generally if you look like you make over 100k a year (even if you dont) you will never get bothered.

Its a choice they make: they can express themselves, but then they stand out more to the police.

on another note, yes a lot of cops overreact in the casses of shooting someone, but if a cop is yelling at you to do something, drop everything and do it as quickly as possible. no need to get an attitude. Its a shitty situation when the suspect is deaf, drunk, and holding a knife, because all the cop sees is a sketchy shitfaced guy who has a knife who just wheeled on him and yelled what!!??

bottom line is if you really are worried about the boys fucking your life up...dont make yourself a target

well cmon, do you know how many cops have been shot in the last year? those numbers would be enough to scare the shit outta me

lol ive dealt with my fair share of cops. The bottom line is dont make yourself a target. If you really feel the need to express yourself in alternative ways, that may be legal and you might not be actively hurting anyone, but you are drawing attention to yourself. So when the boys do roll on you, be as nice as you can be, and dont get pissed when they fuck your life up for something barely illegal.

the only times i have interacted with cops was when i was making a target of myself. the only times ive had bad experiences with cops was when i didnt do exactly as they said.

some of what the cops do isnt ethically correct, but they Dont randomly roll on people: if your a teen driving at night, expect to get pulled over, you look like your about to cause mischeif.

or when the police say "drop [insert weapon]" you fucking drop it?

Considering how many interactions go down on a daily basis in Seattle alone, and how relatively few incidents there are, it goes to show that it isn't a "failed institution"
It would be like saying "oh, train just derailed, told you not to ride trains." Shit happens, but it is still pretty rare. Throw in a little minority "victim" and it becomes front page news and seems more omnipresent than it really is.

Haha. Oh my god. Are you joking me Poluha?
"It's a rarity to see this happen on the East Coast"
Go to South Carolina, Georgia, North Carolina, Virginia, and, for fucks sake DC... Then come back and talk to me about inhumaine, ignorant racist people...
I think you mixed up the west coast with the South East... because WA, OR, and CA are by far some of the most humane and tolerant places in the country...

Let me ask you a question, have you ever been black, poor, in the wrong neighborhood, and dealt with the police?
Some police guys are cool, but a lot of police are just jarheads who couldnt quite make it in boot camp and cant wait to pull out their gun and shoot coloured people...

this is all true basically, except for boise ID where i live, but the way you wrote that just made you seem like an arrogant asshole so you loose.

Yep. The mt baker neighborhood in seattle is the most racially diverse zip code in the country. We are very tolerant. Where are you from?

I've been to NYC plenty of times.....I feel safe....It's not like it used to be in the 80s and 90s, it's fairly safe now, considering the amount of crime per thousand people, or whatever figure you want to see

Power corrupts. When you give people that much power, with little to no checks, of course this shit is gonna happen. People need to stop sucking everything up and start caring more.

I'm a Criminal Justice major and wanna be a cop someday and all I can say is, Wow the first video of the police officer that shot the deaf dude was very unjustified, could have definitely been handled better, I'd like to see the case file on that incident. Also I'm willing to bet that those three people that were detained by accident were given some sort of compensation, that's usually how it works, you wouldn't believe the insurance policy's that Pd's take out.

Also did you know that Seattle PD has the hardest time recruiting Police Officers. Seattle Cops are some of the best paid in the Country, the reason why is cause it fucking blows to be a Seattle Police Officer.

The cop fired FOUR shots at a person (presumably) facing the opposite direction. He killed the man which meant he probably hit him in the torso with one or more of the shots.

There is no fucking way the cop shot in self defense. Officers are trained to shoot people in non-lethal areas UNLESS NESICARY.

I don't understand how things like this can get international media attention and the government still won't do anything about it. To be honest, I'm starting to believe what Europeans say about Americans.

I know starting pay for oakland/richmond/vallejo police is 85k+ per year.

I have a hard time believing that seattle has a harder time finding cops, or pays them more than the eastbay municipalities.

Seattle cops let me off free after going 70 mph in a 35...they always seemed super chill to me. Maybe Seattle is a really boring place to be a cop so they try to start shit to make their job interesting...not saying thats right but i could be the case

not gonna comment on the guy getting shot. thats a tragedy regardless of whether or not it was justifiable by the officer or not. the girl that got punched in the face deserved it. assaulted the officer. the girl in the cell deserved it. she assaulted the officer. they were being fucking retarded and got what they deserved. if they didnt have this "fuck the police" attitude and lack of respect for authority, it wouldnt have happened

homeless guy one and mexican : ridiculous

others: disrespecting the police, you get fucked up. its common smarts. jesus

lets stay on topic. In seattle it is incredibly hard to prosecute police officers. the requirements to charge a police officer and a normal citizen with murder or manslaughter are different. For police you have to prove that they had hate for the person basically. it is much harder to prosecute so hard in fact a seattle police officer has never been convicted on charges like these. however he will lose his job.

Some of that shit in the videos was fucked up, a bit of it may have been justified, but still over reactions.

But in my experiences with the police (and luckily there have only been a few...) the cops have been pretty reasonable and never used violence.

Thats just my experience.

probly cause you looked scared and were extremely cooperative. Cops are trained to intimidate, because it puts the power into their hands in a potentially dangerous situation.

If you are very polite and respectful, you will get treated well. if you cop an attitude and try and parade your rights around arrogantly, then ya, you probly will get slammed onto a curb or hood of the car.

I dont know about that dude... haha.
Theres some pretty damn ridiculous ethnic diversity in places around where I'm from in the East Bay Area in in Northern California... my high school had over 3000 kids and was split very evenly between white, african-american, asian/pac islander, and latinos... Hell, there's even a healthy dose of middle easterners there... the largest percentage of one ethnicity is whites, which only make up 25.2% of the whole pop.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deer_Valley_High_School_(Antioch,_California)

And the city where I grew up? Far from the most ethnically diverse... (66% white). If you want that, go to Oakland, it's easily more diverse than the city limits of any other large city of its size in California... (yes, more diverse than San Francisco and LA, by far) and MUCH more diverse than northwest cities like Portland or Seattle (both well over 2/3rds white)
Any other large city in the nation that I look at, is at least 2/5ths of one single ethnicity (usually latinos or whites)... Oakland's largest single ethnicity is African Americans, and it's only like 30-31% or so of the population I'd argue that it's the most ethnically diverse city based on percentages alone in the entire nation...

Oh. and screw educated population... we're too ethnically diverse in the bay area for the white fuckfaces who control the money to spend jack shit on fixing such issues... (yes. I'm playing the race card)
Least we're more street smart than you!

>watch crip and blood documentary.
>>lol when they're like "And then the next gen came along, and we don't know WTF they were fighting about."
>>>SAY IT LOUD.

I was at the courthouse while the inquest for William's shooting was going on. I saw his family and heard that lady in the crosswalk testify (at least I think it was her. It was some lady who was walking by during the shooting). I think it's bullshit that the officer is getting off without charge.

Screw you, You are just as bad as the cops in these videos. You are generalizing on what you know nothing about. Take into consideration all the good that occurs here. and burn in hell.

this is just talking about the different types of people who live there, it doesnt have to equally divided between the races.

for instance it could have 60% white 20% asian 10%black

with the rest being random nationalities.

the diversity is not equally divided if you get what i am saying.

also idk where they get the data from, because this article came out before they released the census data

That's what I gathered too... It's still mostly white... who cares how MANY different ethnicities there are... what matters in my opinion is if theres many different full fledged GROUPS of them... and by that account... I'd definitely say 94606, 94601, and 94621 are right up there as far as full on ethnic diversity...

You're an idiot. How does a random fact like that signify someone's intelligence? YOU are an example of why people see America as so dumb. God damn.

Agreed. I live in Sandpoint(North Idaho) and like HoneyBadger said there are dumbass people here. but contrary to (some) of the easts belief we actually have a good community with quite a few smartass people

Lol. Sandpoint is a resort town, now... It's hardly ignorant...
it's not fuckin rexburg (which is only ignorant in my opinion because half of the mormons there are bordering upon straight FLDS status...)

lol your from the part of the state that he was talking about. I know sandpoint has its shit on lock, but ponderay...not so much. kellog...not so much. In general, north idaho is not a real worldy liberal place.

Cour'd Alene is an exception

they didnt serve my FOB asian friend at the kfc, because he could order well enough. We tried to order for him, but they said if he cant order himself he cant order.

probly changed since then.

Ponderay is... like... in sandpoint basically? haha. I didnt even notice i was in a different town as I was driving up...
Bonners Ferry isnt exactly liberal though I'll say that... but its not like any part of Idaho is particularly liberal and worldly anyways...
Hell. Sarah Palin went to UI and look where that got her. haha.

and wazzu. But Moscow is all good, its a college town fer sure. seriously though Uof I...not exactly a brainiacs haven, plus all the sexy beezies come to pullman to party every weekend.

prolly just a bad experience in ponderay though "the little city with the big future" lol
