Seasons Pass- Park City or Brighton

I'm excited about getting to ride a full terrain park for the first time but am not very experienced at it. Which would be better for me? thanks +k for help

I would say Park City just because it is better maintained, there are more transition between the smallest to largest park and a lot less janky. Also if it is your first real year skiing park the snowboarders at Brighton will hate on you. Just be warned the first day skiing Park City will be the most sobering day of your life. 12 year old kids throwing dubs is just one of the many spectacles you can see there.

This, except I've never gotten any snowboard hate. Brighton is pretty rough to learn at and last year their park game was just terrible.

That was seriously the most dumb thing that has ever happened to me at any resort ever. But yeah Brighton was jank last year, fun, but jank. I don't know how you dress but any sort of bagginess warrants hate from snowboarders

hmmm it sure seems like those snowboarders gave you alot of trouble last year, maybe you should stick with deer valley or alta haha

Park city has huge parks with something for everyone, but the atmosphere is extremely competitive, I found a lot of the kids to be dicks to others who weren't so good.Brighton has a decent sized park that is super fun, and its much more chill and relaxed.

that's good to hear. i got a pass to brighton this year and it's gonna be my first year in the park, so i'm gonna suck for sure haha. i was a little worried about the hate that i might get from people, but hopefully it's pretty chill like you said.

You'll be fine. Besides the random jackass boarder that just likes hating, everyone is stoked on everything. Everyones just out there having fun, and theres nothing better than everyone getting stoked on each other at the top of the milly tubes, no matter if your 4in on or if its your first time ever hitting a tube. Of course PC's park is better, but the atmosphere at brighton is WAY better, and if you can get good hitting brightons park you will be good to go anywhere.

awesome! that makes me feel way better haha. my main draw to brighton was that i heard the atmosphere was way good (along with the much better cottonwood snow haha). if you see a super tall skinny dude laughing while falling on every rail there then it's probably me hahah.

It's hard to say for everyone, but brighton is the dopes resort I've been to, and I've been to both park city and brighton. Brighton just has a real chill local vibe, and the milly chair is fuckin ill. it just takes you up this raw peak with hardly any trail markers or anything. buncha cliffs to drop and booters people have built in the snow to make for some sick lines. the other side of the mountain has some super fun tree runs and a mellow and creative park. Park city does have a flawless park with super smooth jumps and jib features you wont really find anywhere else, but it's packed as fuck and anytime you find yourself a nice little stash someone will see your tracks and by your next time around it will be shralped. I also have a bit of a biased view though because we had a group of local friends hiking us around Brighton and we didn't have that for PC

Brighton's park blows. If you're a solid park skier you can entertain yourself there, but I'm pretty sure trying to learn there would be miserable. And this is coming from someone who is buying a brighton pass... I say park city hands down.

But... Brighton's park is terrible. It's fine that you like it, but don't misinform people who are trying to collect real information to make an informed decision. If someone who skis normal terrain parks buys a Brighton pass because you gave them the impression that the park was good you would be ruining their whole season, just because you refuse to accept that your are a minority.

Again, this is coming from someone who is buying a Brighton pass.Their park can be fun, but that doesn't mean it is good. It's not "good."

And don't respond with some skiing is all about fun shit, everybody knows nobody cares.

haha thats not my point at all. I skied canyons park and brightons park in the same season 2 years ago (a year that brightons park was worse than usual), and I can honestly say that I always had more fun at brighton. I like brightons park, sure it may be a little more difficult than some because it is set up with more ollie ons than your perfect PC park, but once you are good at it, it is a blast. Sure it may be harder to begin with, but in the end it makes you better and I think it is more fun. The vibe at brighton is WAYYY better than at PC, and the park is much less crowded, and that for me makes my days at brighton more fun than what I would have at PC.

dude brightons park is just fucking bomb, if you think it sucks then you just aint skiing it right, the jumps may blow but the rails at btwon are more flossin then ANYWHERE

I like how you quoted this:

And don't respond with some skiing is all about fun shit, everybody knows nobody cares.

by saying that Brighton's park is just more fun.

I will also be getting a Brighton pass this year. They have improved their park immensely over the past few years, but it is still far from PC. I also despise the flat part after the jumps.

The only reason I am getting a Brighton pass is because I now have a big boy job, so I am going to have to do a bit of night skiing during the week. I would rather ski Brighton at night.

but if you want the balance between pow and park b-town is the place to be.. i dont know why im trying to convince you guys though stay the fuck away from brighton, i like my zero lift lines

I've heard this a few times before but I've never had that experience. I'm super new to skiing park, I had a pc pass last year and no one ever gave me shit for being bad at it. I'd get really nervous, but everyone was always trying to raise my confidence and helping me out.

What is sit in their cars and wait for UDOT to open the canyon

I"ll take what is it lcc skiers do on powdays for $100 Alex

Yeah, but jumps make up a good portion of what park skiing is. So, if you really just want to jib, Brighton is incredible. But PC's opening day jump last season was better than anything I've hit at Brighton.

I am also buying a Brighton pass this year, and can say their park just isn't that good. Yeah, fun. Yeah, they have great rails, but to say their park is good is kind of a stretch.

I'm sure everyone can agree on this.

PC for Park if you love to jump.

Brighton for good rails and fun pow.

Both have night skiing now, so that doesn't matter. When only Brighton had it, that was definitely something to consider, but not anymore.

the one thing that I will say for brightons night skiing is that it is not lit well enough. May not seem like a huge deal but some of the shadowy spots can get super sketch at night

Not sure why people always hate on the vibe at PC I have fun every day I'm there either filming or skiing.

to me its just too competitive and isnt as "fun" I would say. Everything is taken too seriously there. Idk its great on like gaper day, but other than that it just seems to me like everyone is trying to prove whos dick is bigger

not understanding all the complaints on "vibes." who gives 2 shits what a 17 year old in saga thinks of you? they are the only ones who would even talk shit anyways, nobody above that age gives a fuck anyways..

Granted I suck at park and am more into big mtn/backcountry so I don't spend much time there, but I've never had any issues when I go into 3 Kings or anything. I'm just respectful of those who are obviously better than I am and stay out of their way. Then again I'm older than probably everyone in there so if some kid were to start talking shit I just wouldn't care.

Skied pc 3 years now, I would say people are maybe more focused but i wouldn't go as far as to say it has a bad vibe or that everyone's trying to show whos dick is bigger.
