Personally this is terrible. As if birth control already didn't mess with things that never should be altered, this is just a horrible idea. Completely tampering with the specificly functional biological sequences of the human body is absolutely ludacris. I don't know how a woman could ever take this. Yeah it's more convient, but why in the hell would you ever begin to change a fundamental biological cycle of your body?

if they were throwing new chemicals into you body then yah, it would probaly be very messed up. but as it is just are just giving them more of some hormones that they already make and are already in their body. I dont see whats so horrible with that. it doesnt do any permanate damage.

Dude, you really have no idea what you're talking about do you. Before my GF went on the pill her periods were so fucked up. She'd either have her periods like 2 weeks apart, or just not get it for a couple months. Also she would be in so much pain, she'd have to just lay in bed for days on end, she was miserable. Now that shes on the pill, everything is pretty much normal and shes happier than ever. So don't make judgements about something you have zero experience with.

brith control isn't chemicals it's hormones that trick you body into thinking that it's pregnant. (man that is werid) but girls have many diffrent reasons to go on brith control. personally seasonal i think isn't a bad idea, i'm thinkin a girl would rather have 4 periods a year the 12. but there is pros and cons to everything so i can see where your comming from.

Don't tell me this is something I have zero experience with.

Birth control pills usually have progestin and estrogen. These hormones overflow the body's regular horomones, which usually stimulate the hypthalmus to release LH and FSH. The pill prevents the release of FSH (Follicle Stimulatiing Hormone) so the egg is never released. Also, because of the progesterone levels, the uterine lining never builds up.

What seasonale does is just continue into tricking your body for a longer peroid of time. So that means that women on the pill will have the same uterine lining for 3 months...not a good idea when it was only meant for 3 weeks. The body just isn't supposed to handle that in terms of infection and other possible complications.

I just don't understand what could compel a person to begin to fool with something that just isn't supposed to be messed with.

That's pretty messed. And to the guy who's girlfriend took the pill to regulate her period...this is a bit different. She probably took it so that she would have a regular period, which can be obtained through use of birth control pills for a few weeks. A woman is meant to menstruate once a month for a week. It's not that bad, and easy enough to deal with. It's screwy when they use hormones to do this kinda stuff, and probably really unhealthy.

And complaining about your period is bullshit, I mean complaining about the pain and annoyance is normal I do it all the time but I think women should feel blessed that they have the greatest power in all of this world which is the ability to create life. They can't do it on their own naturally but the capability of supporting another life, and giving birht is something to feel lucky about.

I'm not saying it's gonna kill you. But it can't be good for you. Aside from all the reasons why its not a great biological idea, Lauren hit it on the head with the whole ideal of it. Why would you stop your sexual cycle? I mean, I just don't understand how someone could be okay with doing that to their bodies. It's not even necessary. There are soo many other contraceptives out there, from condoms to spermicide cream, and at a certain age vascetomy. I fell like it would be a bad thing to know that your body is essentially shut off.

Sometimes I think that personally I wouldn't have sex unless I was trying to have a child, just because i think that the whole process of two people creating another life is too sacred to waste on carnal desire. But that's just unrealistic for most people including myself probably, I don't know. It just seems like that process shouldn't be tainted by human pleasure when there are other things you can be doing.

i know of a guy who refuses to have sex because he belives it is too much of an instinct and that giving into to urges is like giving up all his intelect. He wont have sex because he thinks its too 'animal'.

The pill is one of the single greatest inventions ever because thanks to the pill I don't have to wear a condom. Condoms suck and as far as I'm concerned should be avoided whenever it is safe to do so. Anybody who doesn't wanna have sex has obviously never had any...
