Season pass in Utah. Which resort?

Hey NS,I'm moving to Utah this summer and want to know which resort to buy a season pass at. I'm not really into park, more of charging, BC jibbing, and trying to find hits all over the mountain. I'm probably gonna get a season pass to Alta or Snowbird, but they get tracked out so fast. Do you guys have any recommendations on where to get a season pass? I heard Solitude doesn't get tracked out too quickly and Brighton seems pretty cool, too. I'm pretty sure my dads' job would be around Lehi so I don't want to drive too far (i.e. Powder Mountain or Snowbasin)
+K for help!

i would say brighton that way if ou get an imediate urge to slay park you can hit a decent one. not to mention the amazing bowls there.

snowbird and alta get tracked out fast? im not a local so im no expert, but every time ive been there i was able to find stashes days after a storm.

not true.

all wasatch mountains are ill- anywhere you choose you'll have fun. brighton or alta sound like they're what you're lookin for though.

Get an Alta pass. Ski fast, take chances. IMO there are way better inbounds jumps at Alta while there are arguably better inbounds cliffs at Snowbird (but Alta has good cliffs too).

I skied Alta a week after a big dump and there was still almost perfect powder in Catherines area. And snowbasin has some pretty good terrain as well.

I have an alta/snowbird pass and some of this is true. It does get tracked fast. The past three days ( Busiest of the year almost) I got at least one good chute of fresh powder every run. Plus hitting huge cliffs and lines. Solitude always has powder. Hard terrain is hard to find though. Brighton is flat at points and really just can't compare. Snowbird/Alta is where its at. Once you learn your way around the mountain you will be so happy. Taking tram laps all day with powder in your face is truly the greatest feeling ever.

are you asking for a recommendation for a pass IN ADDITION TO Alta/Snowbird or INSTEAD of Alta/Snowbird?

The Bird only gets tracked out fast for tourists and wimps. Go take a traverse farther than 100', and you'll find good snow.

Personally, I'd go Bird over Alta. #1, because I snowboard as well as ski. And #2, i HATE!!! the single-tip, skinny-ski, locals-only, tight-outerwear type of attitude that a lot of the people have there.

sooo their gear determines their attitude? although i know the attitude you are talking about, i havent had a problem with it, just dont get in the way on high traverse haha

I disagree. On almost any given day I go up and run into all sorts of people who are personable and funny and a blast to ski with.

ok dont listen to people talking about snowbasin because its completely out of the way and is a stupid idea considering all the terrain around the salt lake valley and pc....as for snowbird alta choose alta its great nd it doesnt get tracked out but the bird does very quickly...also the other problem with little cottonwood where the bird and alta are located is that during big storms the canyon closes alot...usually is open for a lil in the earl morn but near 9ish it tends to be closed for a couple hours.....however big cottonwood canyon does not have as much avalanche danger so it does not close down as much and brighton is super good you got milly bowl inbounds and some other good secret stashes but the backcountry access is where it stands out it is simply amazing how much technical terrain is so easily accessible

If he doesn't care much about park, why would he want to go to canyons?

If you don't wanna do alta/bird (which if you bought the combo pass you'd be in power/freeski heaven) get a brighton pass and some skins and learn about BC shit, you can ski a pow day at brighton then tour around brighton using their access gates and ski pow for days after. And then, if you wanna hit some rails one day you can.

Alta has the best backcountry access by far and the canyon closing is awesome in my mind... hop on a bus instead of driving up and you get there before any cars can.

No reason to get more than one cottonwood pass unless you don't feel like driving a little farther. PC + alta/snowbird is the best combination for sure.

The busses get up far later than the public line of cars does.

And to that other guy who said alta doesnt track out fast, it does, every resort tracks out fast. thats why you get their early as fuck and leave around 2-3.

If you are going to be up north anyway and you are going to have an Alta or Bird pass anyway, then I would get one to Powder Mountain.

This man speaks the truth.

Alta/Bird get the publicity, but Solitude has just as good terrain with Honeycomb Canyon and Fantasy Ridge. Also a more chill vibe. You'll also enjoy dealing with less traffic through BCC vs. LCC.

everyone's just gonna recommend the resort they ski at but anywhere you go it's gonna be sick! i'd recommend alta haha

semi-thread jack. I'm planning on moving out to Alta next season and working at a lodge, the lodge provides an alta pass and then you can upgrade to a snowbird pass for another 700 or whatever. Just wondering if it'd be worth it. I'm definitely getting an AT set up if I move out there too.

If you gots the loot a silver pass is 30 days @ every UT resort or the cottonwood canyon foundation sells a cottonwoods pass which is 30 days at each cottonwood resort.
