Season Pass Anger and Price Inflation

I just want to focus on some bullshit really quick.

As a student in Colorado, I paid $99 for a pass at Eldora, a legit ass mountain, just a bus ride away from my place.

Butternut is charging $275 for a seasons pass, which is OKAY, but still pretty god damn expensive for someone who eats Ramen 6 nights a week and who's mommy & daddy won't buy a season's pass for them. For those of you who have that exclusive privilege, don't say nuthin, or I might find you, eat your pass, and then shit it out on your chest.

Now here's what really chaps my ass. The two main CT mountains, Sundown and Southington, seriously must be smoking the good shit. By good shit, of course, I mean crack cocaine.

$479 and $435 for a pass? Are you actually joking me?

No student discounts?

Asshole managers in vests and oversized boots, patrolling the mountain on foot, asking to see passes?

Shitty, smelly, dumpy facilities (well... mostly Southington) that need a fresh coat of paint and an overall attitude adjustment?

I'm seriously, seriously pissed off that I have to drive 1.5 hours to Butternut, when I COULD'VE driven 30 god damn minutes to Southington to enjoy their mediocre park, and grom patrol. I really would've paid $300 dollars, AND the ludicrous notion of a park pass fee. Possibly even $325. But that much? REALLY?

Please share your opinions on this matter...

I also think sundowns pass is expensive, but when i ski about 50 times there and atleast 10 times at butternut its worth it, i get my money's worth at both places

No offense man, you are stupid. East Coast Skiing is overpriced and Massachusetts has the worst fricken snow quality. The parks aren't great either and you could probably get rides to NH or VT every weekend and ski some pretty legit mountain for less.

and having already realized your point prior to you stating it, i'm stupid? really? you really could've just left that part out.

The 100 $ you think you saved by driving an extra hour to a cheaper mountain will surely be spent on gas. Reconsider your decision.

I was gonna say the same thing.

I've paid for my Sundown passes and have ALWAYS gotten double what I paid out of it (meaning, I would have paid twice as much as I did paying for the pass if I just got regular priced lift tickets, and last year it was close to triple) It's very much worth it for me to pay for the pass and be able to ski almost everyday somewhere that's 15min from my house. Not to mention, Sundown is always clean (gets new paint every year) and for the most part the staff is super chill and nice (exception of the few Snow Patrol Super Cops - but they are necessary sometimes).

im with this guy, why do you gota be mean?? jerk.

and yeah, if you can hustle a ride situation, make the trek up to loon. new england pass is (i think?) cheaper and we got a ton of cool things to do.

Butternut FTW!

srsly though mount snow is like 750 with blackout dates

complete fucking rip off

they should jsut make a carinthia pass

Mountains have to make money somehow. And Southington isn't that much of a dump. $400 isn't that much for a pass, that's what I pay for a college price in VT.
