Season in Whistler - When to arrive?

Hello Forum Goers

I am hoping you can help me out. Me, My GF, My bro and his GF are all going out to Whistler for the coming season.

We got our visas sorted out in what was the debacle of MyCIC application process and are now looking to book flights and start doing some serious research.

Now the question of when to actually arrive in Whistler is very prominent. We all want to get jobs but first and foremost we want to secure some decent priced accommodation. So with that in mind what is the latest you can arrive in Whistler and still find something reasonable?

The job fair is in early October but seen as we probably won't work for the mountain and will get our passes ourselves we are not that bothered about missing this.

Really our main concern is getting somewhere to stay and then going from there. Can anyone offer advice from their experiences please it would be massively helpful?

Honestly you just need to come a week or 10 days before the 1st of a month ... look on craigslist (canadian equivalent of like... gumtree I guess) for places renting, and go view some places to rent from the 1st... Way harder if you cant go view yourself before, and people are wary of renting to people who aren't in Whis. There is never a shortage of housing around. Were looking for a 2bedroom for 4 people as well right now, and a couple new ones come up most days... Can be picky.

Thanks for the response. Just to clarify what month are you refering to when you say arrive before the 1st of the month which month are you reffering to?

Is November too late or will we still have a pick of some decent places?

Mid to end of October so you can get your house sorted for the start of November and start looking for a job if you dont already have one.

best time to score a house is october, best time to score a job is november. Expect a month or two without any work as most jobs only start in december.
