Season Goals

First snow hit Utah today, setting some goals here:

1. Don't get hurt

2. Learn consistent 360s/switch 180s, also try a backflip first true powder day of the year, land at least another backflip this year

3. Skiers right broom closet if the knee is feeling good; also hit death chute center line

4. Get better at skiing bumps and moguls, learn to make controlled turns coming out of stuff at high speed and ski it more fluidly rather than a sketchy-ass straightline. Overall ski more fluidly rather than just ski to line and hit line

5. MT trip

6. Get up earlier for powder days; more first tracks in the Gad 2/tigertail/pearly gates area, that place is magical in a way I have a hard time describing

7. Start learning the basics of ski touring and avalanche stuff

8. Get at least one day in at DV for no reason at all

9. Give more presents to lifties

10. Ultimate goal if I get super good at backflips out of nowhere: Double backflips

11. Ski more park days at Woodward PC

12. Don't get super tuned up on hill this year

13. Mt superior in the springtime if no avalanche danger

Honestly having no goals. Not going to the mountain with certain trick I have to commit to or learn. Just doing whatever I want to learn that day in the moment and not stressing when I go home defeated

I just want my IT band syndrome or whatever is causing that "tendon roll" upon full leg extension to stop.

Anyone got sum tips? MRI was negative for ACL

My goal is to get back into gripping rails like I used to. My rail game has slacked big time. It’s weird how i am so good at front 2 out (which I used to never do) but I now have a back 2 out mental block (which used to be my go to trick). So I’ve been thinking a lot about gripping rails with edges lately.

And then a backflip maybe. Idk. No rush on that one. I used to do front flips on skis and I used to be able to back flip standing up. So I don’t feel like I need to prove anything regarding that.

Dumb goal of the season is to take public transit to the four ski areas in Massachusetts (Wachusett, Nashoba, Bradford and Blue Hills) that are within walking distance of a train or bus stop.

Ski switch better, better switch tricks on rails, slide rails unnatural, get consistent 4 outs back, learn 6 outs. Hit more jumps (specifically getting a pass at Hyland for this) comfortable 5s and 7s, maybe a rodeo or flat spin.

Our pre-pre season in MN let me already get in a lot of good work on switch and unnatural stuff on rails which is nice

Would love to clean up sw corks, 4s on, and rode 9s. Also want to start adding more grabs into jump tricks. Maybe a Dub or rode 10?? Mainly just want to get a more unique/ creative style and have fun with the Homies!

Switch 3 lead cuban to trailing cuban

Getting clean on backswap to switch

At least 60 days of skiing

Stretching after each session

Get inverted

35days

1 really good spring day at Mad River

spin onto stuff/switch on

ski more park really didn’t at all until spring at peace park since it was epic year there and I spent all off winter hitting big stuff at mad river

Best mindset. I always ski better days like this

1. Ski my way out of the crippling depression state endured all summer

2. Get at least one good urban, backcountry, and park shot

3. Reset my career within ski resorts/ski industry

4. Not die

get cork 7s and 9s back

switch cork 5 for sure bc it fucks with me mentally

nb4 onto bigger rails

BE ABLE TO FUCKING SLIDE OPPO CONSISTENTLY FUK

1. Quit doing semi-hard drugs on the lift

2. Quit doing hard drugs in the liftline/parking lot

3. Minimum 6 beers before driving to the hill

4. Quit shitting my 5XL pants while on the slopes.

1. Learn how to be a patroller, go on more calls, gain more experience, and learn how to fucking tie proper knots.

2. Rail tricks

3. Figuring out a ski pass.

I can at least get free tix to snowbird through HR which is nice, but damn these prices are gnarly. At least the midweek deals aren't totally bad. Maybe thinking brighton? Would love to night ski again.

Work on my sw tails so that I can do them in proper rails and not just tubes

Learn 4 on to fw

Film a street video, hopefully get enough clips for a part

Pump out some more park edits

b2, 2 on, back swap, kfed, switch on, STYLE (tips would be greatly appreciated)

Not that I'm an authority on style or anything but I think it comes from being able to do tricks comfortably. Once u have the tricks down the style should start coming. Trying to imitate your favourite skiers is also a good idea imo

I hate setting goals for myself like that. Gonna be skiing just about every day, so my focus is having the best time on hill.

stoked to meet many new people and get to know as many as possible.

Wanna get better skiing switch and have some fun on rails.

I dont really know if goals are what I'm aiming for right now, however there are a couple things that I should improve on.

First of all, finish cutting my glade so my training ground is complete.

Learn to 360 consistently, both directions, and land switch.

Learn to do rails, something I have neglected in my 19 years of skiing.

Luckily I did not neglect skiing trees and moguls and that is all I have done for the past 8 years, so im good on the more technical side, but lack at the steez game.

Maybe meet some people, as I have been skiing solo for far to long and its kind of getting depressing.

Roll out your outer leg with foam roller, everyone I know, including myself, who has had this issue fixed it by consistently rolling out the tendons in your outer hip and thigh. Maybe do some yoga, specifically crossed leg and pigeon pose.

Literally all you gotta know is a clove hitch. Unless you're doing rope rescue then you gotta know climbing knots.

Thanks Boss! I'll give it a try! I know my left side is significantly tighter than my right, I'll get after it.

how you gonna do that at psu lol

I skied 6 days a week for most of last semester so I don't see why I couldn't do it again.

I know of at least one person living in a van in the beaver stadium lot so that could be the move.
