yep, leak appears to have fixed itself... meh!

Car is fast as stink now, quite lovely.

And I just installed my STi shift trim ring thingy, what a pain that was.

Something is fucked with my car, and right at 5000 rpm there is a dramatic drop in power, you can feel it as a hesitation, and the dyno plot confirmed a sudden drop of about 15-20hp right there. Not sure whats happening. As a result my power isn't nearly as high as it should be right now, but its still quite high.

This was on a Mustang dyno, which was reading very low. As a comparison, my friend had his stock 06 VW GTI, which ran 154whp on the dyno (A stock WRX would have read right around that same number on this dyno). My car got 197whp. If I can get the drop figured out, it will be more around 220whp.

Still it was a very fun day, never been to a dyno before, most of the cars were pretty crappy. For the longest time my buddy had the highest horsepower with his Evo, and I had the second highest, but then another Evo showed up and pushed us both down. There was a Volvo estate there that put out a whopping 88whp!!!

I haven't driven in the snow with all this power yet, hahaha, so we'll see.

BUT my engine management allows me to switch maps on the fly, so I can put it on an "Economy Mode" which has better gas mileage, limits boost to just 7psi (normally its about 17 psi) so you have FAR less power, less than stock. Better gas mileage, and safer in the snow!
 
mmm, that sounds good. because i was thinking all that torque, even with awd, would send you spinning quite a bit. do you ahve a laptop hooked up to your car, or is it dash-integrated?
 
its a small little box I have to hook up to it to switch maps, so its not hooked up all the time. I can hook a laptop up for data logging though, I can basically log any parameter I want (speed, RPM, boost, EGT's, injector duty% etc etc etc). Its pretty cool.

And torque... well, I'm turbo so I have almost no torque, haha. LOTS of horsepower though, so as long as I keep the revs low I'm ok... problem is with my mods my boost comes in at like 2000 rpm (that's a problem? yeah right... )
 
Just cut two big holes in my fenders tonight to put in some JDM sidemarkers!!!!!

Only thing I need are JDM headlights to finish my exterior.

whats funny is when rowen started this thread it was about some dynamat and a shift knob.

I've currently spent a little over $6000 in parts on my car since July.

and how much money have you paid your mom for the car so far? and how much do you have left to pay it off? huh.... maybe somebody should just pay the fucking car off. or just give me all your god damn money
 
24mm whiteline adjustable rear sway bar, 27mm adjustable front sway bar (equivalent to 26mm rear and 29mm front).

HKS front camber plates in a week.
 
and.... now my radiators leaking. must've hit it on something doing a zenki drift the other day, I smoked the MR2 I was racing though.

going in to the doctor tomorrow to get all fixed up :(
 
No, actually on my old car I probaby spent less than $1000 on it, probably closer to like $500... I had no money then!

And billy, those are pointer cones, they're supposed to be down!

ha! hell no, I work hard for ma moneys!

and WRX wagon... SICK!!!! As beautiful as the RS is.... once you go turbo, you never go back. And a wagon, well thats just amazingly convenient, especially for skiing (2 door sucks for skiing...)
 
from what I have heard thats the overstatement of the century right there.

and hey I have a bunch of money now too, my Bank account is almost at $1000 right now
