They will hook you up! They are over in West Seattle, and are TOTALLY awesome. Everybody keeps getting the Espelir exhaust. I've heard it and it sounds FANTASTIC! Not too loud, but very very nice. I don't know much about turbo plumbing (up and down pipes) cause I don't have that luxury, haha.

I got my WRX exhaust on today finally, did the welding myself. It looks SOO sexy, but is so quiet! So its awkward to drive.

Almost done with the body work on the bumper, still waiting for the turn signals and foglight covers, and then I just need to get it painted!

Actually, I found a guy in Vancouver BC with a replica set, he is giving to me for $10 shipped!!!!

So I'm all set with those! I'm probably still going to make a mold cause I still want to make some carbon fiber ones. I'll let you know when I get that figured out if you want a set (fiberglass or carbon fiber)

Its always been my dream to be rice..... so (provided my turn signals are sitting at home on my porch, I'm at work so I don't know if they arrived) I am going to install my bumper in glorious PRIMER without foglights or covers.

Yeah, and even on my car, I've never had it once kick in... i guess good tires help that though

So its time to fix the suby after its runin with my hip and a heel of someone on the hood. short story, my hip hit the suby when i was trying to take a drunk guy down to the ground to get him to calm down. and he heal droped it after i let him up (I was rough with his face in the asfalt and almost ended up smashing his face in the curb....) then i gave him two back eyes, so all the really got damaged in the fight was the suby, he agreed to fix the hood (so no cost there) but the fender was techicaly my falt since i was taking him down to the ground. so i'm kind of getting fucked in all of this but i got good deals on shit. the fender ran me $175 instead of $325 the shop wanted to chage me.

and now the question is do this: i'm buying the paint and materals for all of this and i have the bay time and the painter all lined up and do i run with the idea of the only all Perl Whilte Outback in the US?

from there i was going to power coat the stock rims gold (and posibly the calipers but i haven't decided the color yet) and tint the windows with a refective privacy tint at %30front and %20rear. also want to go talk to H&R springs here in bellingham and see why i couldn't use the sport spring for the legacy and see if it would be posible to work with them on a adjustibe coilover for the legacy/outbacks in 02 etc. (haha such a long shot) haha i don't want to get excited about to much else yet because there is to much to think about.

YES on the all white, that would be so hot! Definately gold rims too! Seems like the Outback has pretty soft struts, if you went with H&R's (the H&R impreza springs are LOOOOW) you'd need to get stiffer struts... but that would be taken care of with coilovers.

I really need someone to go over the supension differences between the legacy wagon and the outback and what will fit between them and what doesn't. It's nice that H&R has its productions up here in bellingham so i can just drop by and ask questions i have on their systems and not deal with a shop that knows half ass.

I found a dope brimbo kit for the front but it runs 2,400 and requires a 17inch rim (they have 13inch disks) but i think a drilled and vented disk with better pads and maybe steel braded breaklines would be enough.

don't get drilled rotors, go with slotted. I've heard drilled rotors tend to CRACK, and really don't add much for performance. They're more of a bling factor.

Go with Goodridge for the brake lines for sure. The Subaru 4-pot brake kit fits under 16in wheels (it fits the RS wheels, but NOT the 16" WRX wheels)

Yeah drilled rotors are pointless for street apps... our rotors never get hot enough to utilize the feature

For brakes, get slotted WRX fronts, wrx calipers, then better pads, then in the back, get legacy turbo discs and calipers with better pads... that set up will probably run you what... 500-600? ish... and then your brakes will be set.

I'm pretty sure outbacks and legacys have the exact same suspension becides the strut/spring, the outback has a softer, bigger strut, so if lowering is what you wanna do, you probably could go get some legacy suspension takeoffs from someone on NASIOC, for pretty cheap too

I think the reason why no one sells springs for you car is because no one wants to lower your car, if they didnt want high ground clearance, they would of gotten a legacy.

 
yeah i really don't care as much about the lower factor as a stiffened up ride to improve handleing. and there is something different with the springs between my outback and the legacy wagons H&R is the only company that i have found that makes a spring for the legacy wagons (200-2004's) and they say in the notes about the spring that it will not fit the outbacks. thanks for the info on the drilled roters i'll take that into accout i remember cobb tunning having sloted disks to replace the stock also do you know for a fact that the legacy GT rear disks vary in size or quality then the outbacks? I also really like the idea of the WRX vented front disks and calipers tho. also i was wondering if the legacy oversized rear sway bar's would fit on the outback.

I would *guess* that a legacy sway bar will bolt up to an Outback, but like laughdamon, I don't know much about legacys/outbacks. That's wierd that they say the H&Rs won't fit on an outback, but maybe they just don't work with the struts. Cause as far as I know, the GT and Outback have the SAME body. In other words, can use the same struts, etc.

yeah the outbacks come with a full disk kit (and i LOVE the stoping power i have compaired to my old truck. but small upgrades would be nice, and i will deff get on that forum and ask away thanks for the info and i'll keep posted what happens with the rue

painter took my bumper yesterday, he says he'll have it done in a few days. Costing me a whopping $50 and he does AMAZING work!!!

I'm also picking up at entire WRX catback this weekend, cause I fucked up so bad on my axleback. This catback is already modded (on the midpipe) to bolt up to the rest of my system. Bigger piping all the way back, so I'm happy.

This is modified for a 02 and up RS though, I *think* it should be the same as mine, but I don't know. If not, I've got another exhaust to fuck with. And this one was FREE.

You should get those molds started before you paint, so you don't skuff them up!

oooh yeah, im pretty sure I wanna get rid of my lip, do you think you'd want to just do a straight trade, your manufactured (carbon?) covers for my lip?

If you do wanna do that wait to get your stuff painted, and I'll try and clean up the lip as much as I can, alas... im not a autobody guy

and the flanges should match up just fine, you'll have to do something with the hanger though.

And he might be at the cost level of an RS by now, but hes been able to upgrade all his stuff to surpass an RS, whereas I am left with an expensive car and no money to upgrade.

The brakes are a good example... L brakes are smaller arn't they?

 
L brakes are 9 inch rotors single pot calipers. RS brakes are 9 inch rotors, two-pot calipers. WRX brakes are 11 inch rotors, 2-pot calipers.

I wouldn't say I've put enough to equal an RS yet. I've been VERY VERY thrifty on EVERYTHING I do on my car, I don't have that much to spend. But I've taken my sweet ass time, its taken me nearly 6 years to get the car where it is. Everything has been very cheap.

I may take you up on the lip offer, but its going to take a while to get those covers going. I gotta figure out a way to make a good mold, its not just as easy as making a plaster mold, these things are funny shaped. They're already off getting painted, but I can wrap them in saran wrap to make molds.

Another thing about spending lots of money on the car, as its has been said time and time again in this thread.... its not the money, or the parts themselves, its the act of putting them on the car. Using wrenches and getting dirty. Thats what owning a car like this is all about. Making it your baby, and treating it like your baby. But the added bonus, is that your baby will do some fun stuff after you do the work! :)

I took the lip off, my car looks goofy without it... its definatly a sick lip, but it just doesn't fit my driving style.

 
hahahaha, I don't think the GReddy matches the sideskirts or spats, its too bulky and blocky.

I usually HATE white cars (my mom, dad, and sister all drive white cars. kevin has a white car) but imprezas look SOOOO fucking good in white! ESPECIALLY with the skirts painted!

Eventually I want to paint my car a dark metallic orange, like the Honda Pilot. But thats pricey, so for now I'm sticking with black. I didn't even think about my skirts though until my friend said yesterday "if he's painting your bumper for only $50, why don't you do your skirts too?!" so I gotta talk to him about that tuesday. I could paint my side trim too (that is painted on the RS, but its not on my L).

Part of me really likes having the unpainted parts, they all kinda match nicely... but all painted is very very sexy too.

I went over this driveway that woulda killed my lip... but it was awesome not hearing any scrapes

And now that I look at it, I think i might already have a V.6 lip on... I need to take a picture and see if you or some nasioc guy can confirm, but its either the V. 6 lip is really subtle, or I already have it

Post a picture, I'm curious what you have on there. You know the stock bumper *kinda* looks like it has a lip, sorta.

Yes, the yellow car has the v.6 lip, and NO your car does not have any lip on it. The lip is a seperate piece, just like your GReddy. Its a very subtle lip, thats what I love about it. If your car is a 2000 and up, you have holes drilled in the bottom of your bumper for the v.6 lip already!

very sexy lips, and very pricey. even replicas aren't cheap.

oh, and to clarify. That yellow car is a V.6, not 5. The 5 had NO lip, so if that picture is labeled as a v.5, it is mislabeled.

1999 RS had V.5 bumper (exact same, only no holes for lip) and 2000 and up had v.6 (again, same bumper but with holes underneath)

actually, thats a good point kevin. use bondo, but JB weld around the seams, and then you can use my MAPP-ox torch to melt the JB weld to your lower valiant knight.
