Fuck, now my car is making this huge loud humming noise. Its way to freaking loud to be tire noise, but its comming from the back and doesnt sound 'scrape-y' or mechanical. The closest thing it sounds like is air resistance, but to make that much of a racket i would literally have to be driving a solid wall at 50mph. Its going in for a checkup sometime this week, but damn, have it for a year and two months, no major problems, let my sister and mother use it twice when Im at school and it gets cranky.

My car was making a weird humming noise afew days ago, I looked under the back, and found out a hanger had just fallen off, put the hanger back on and its all good now.

 
rowen, you'd be surprised how a small thing can make a large noise, I won't explain the aerodynamics now, but small things make huge differences.

ski rack for instance, a rack alone (just cross bars) with no fairing sounds like the end of the world is coming, its crazy.

I've been following along with that 22B kit for a while too, they've been working on it for a few years. Its SOOO fucking nice, little pricey though. If I got it, I would paint it. Yeah, carbon fiber is sexy, but I wouldn't want my body to be it.

The thing is too, the front is just bolt on - just the fenders. Bumper is bolt on, both front and back. But the rear quarter panels are scary, cause you have to cut in to your C-pillar and mold it in to that. It'd have to be done by someone that is an expert with autobody.

I think I' just go with fiberglass too, its cheaper! hahaha.

But MAN, you could get SUCH god damn fat tires!!! The 22B is by FAR the single most beautiful car ever built!!!

at least 3 years, maybe more. Search on NASIOC for it, they were talking about it LONG ago.

Yeah, some bitch in bellevue hit my car (I assume woman) in (again, assume) some huge ass SUV while I was parked at the park there. Put a huge dent in my fender right by the corner light and scratched the hell out of my bumper. I was able to push the dent out though, and it looks just fine, you can BARELY make out where the dent was.

yeah, for sure. I know a guy in kirkland who'll sell me a v.5 (RS) bumper AND bumper beam (different than the L beam) for $150. The skin itself needs repainting and a few fixed cracks, but nothing major.

But I figure I should probably fix my CEL first, I'm sure my parents agree too.....

not really loud, just kinda bumbly. My car already sounds like a bumble bee, and when I down shift it sounds like a rally car, sometimes it pops pretty loud!!!

But other than that, it runs great. I consistently get 30mpg CITY driving, and I drive it like I stole it.

To get something like that fixed, wouldn't it just be worth it to do a wrx swap?

 
i wouldn't quite say you drive it like you stole it sean. i would even go as far to say you drive slower than me most the time granted i have to go half the speed around the corners, but still

kevin, I don't drive like I normally do when other people are in my car, that's just something I do. You havent ridden in my car before, trust me. I don't wanna put other people at risk, I don't care about me!

the exception is Cindy on the spiral hiway, she stopped having fun cause I was going too fast and kept telling me to slow down.

Kevin, I've just been playing NEED FOR SPEED UNDERGROUND, and I got the BEST IDEA EVER. NITRO that 4Runner, just DO it! Then you have to get the underlights and hydraulics so that your car's star rating goes up to 6.67! Dont forget the Nitro Purge tho, that makes it into a SICK 6.73!

I need to get the new one though. I've got all kinds of Subaru vinyl I added to the first one.

I'm not so sure nitrous would be good on a big truck that already has too soft of suspension (you'd hit your tow hitch on the ground from so much nose lift!!!)

no no no, no nitrous. once the engine dies ima get a twin turbo supra inline six!!!! quite a few people have done it now. :) lots of info is piling up on the parts needed and how to do it. :) :)

and how am i gonna boost it? there is no supercharger made for it. am i gonna retrofit a fuckin turbo on it? i'd have to redo the whole fuel system and get new and cams or whatever, thats more work than teh supra swap

how much does a supra engine cost though?? I thought it was like getting a RB26 from nissan... there super rare and cost 7-10 grand.

 
yeah, i can imagine supra engines are way up there.

you can turbo any engine kevin. just slap in on the exhaust, put some bigger injectors on there, BAM. piece of cake.

they're really not that expensive if you shop around. but im really not sure how much, on supracharged.com (4runner and pickup supra swaps) they list on the parts needed list the engine (i would assume not rebuilt) was like $1000

i rather have an inline 6 than a V8 but either way it would beat the 3.slow v6 that i gots

So I'm *thinking* about ditching all of the decals and tinting it really dark. I'd probably still have a windshield banner though, bigger letters no star cluster, but a really dark silver like gunmetal color.

I don't know. Working on getting some lower/stiffer springs too.
