Well, it looks like I'm getting another car...
My grandpa has had this forever, but hasn't driven it in quite a long time. He know's I've been in love with it since I was a baby, and so he called us this morning to tell me its mine.
The only thing, is that he lives in Parker, Arizona (on the Colorado River) so we've got to figure out a way of getting it up here. We could rent a U-Haul, or a flat bed truck, but that would be pretty pricey. We're thinking of just getting a pickup truck and towing it, since it has a tow thingy on the front.
So what is it you ask?
!!!!!!!DUNE BUGGY!!!!!!!
Volkswagen chassis and engine, with a fiberglass sand buggy body. HUGE ass wheels, chrome roll bar, HUGE chrome exhaust pipes (two of em, sticking way up in the air!) I've never driven it, but I know its a zip! And to top it all off, its got an aooga horn on it!
I don't have any pictures of the actual car, but here is EXACTLY what it looks like (it is currently baby blue, but we will probably re paint it... not sure on the color yet, any ideas? Dark blue, with a pearl kinda thing?)
This are a few pictures I found online, it's identical to these:
As I said, its baby blue, but we'll probably be painting it. Everything that can be chrome is chrome. Chrome roll bar, lights, exhaust, wheels, steering wheel. The mufflers are cherry bombs I'm pretty sure! Body is perfect (its fiberglass). Engine runs ok, he said the starter needs a new solinoid, cause it keeps sticking on, haha. But overall, it should need very little work. Just simple stuff.
My mom is going to completely re-do the upholstry on the seats. Probably a two-tone scheme of maybe creme and light smokey baby blue. Of course, I will probably put a big K&N filter on there, maybe some new gauges. Diamond plating for under the feet? Hahaha, no.
But anyhoo, should keep me busy this summer. If I can just get it up here.... that's the hard part.

Dont worry, its a controlled slide.
