Not into their stuff, but I'm going to play Devil's advocate for the pricing - the shirts are made in LA, so they are likely produced at one of the factories that makes the American Apparel stuff. Those shops produce some quality stuff and charge a lot to produce small quantities for small companies not looking to make thousands at a time. It's possible that their stuff is cut and sew, which adds another expense, particularly for small orders. If you wan't cheap stuff (not saying poor quality, just cheap), it's not going to be made here. While a lot of made in USA stuff is definitely overpriced, there is a very significant back end cost associated with producing it.
