Sean pettit is vastly under-rated

He is definitely not under-rated. Everyone knows Sean kills it! I remember a thread way back when where everyone said he was the king of backcountry at the moment.

A lot of skiers are underrated, but Pettit wouldn't be the first to come into my head.

And as to Ian Mac being the best big mountain skier? Not 100% sure on that. Ligare fucking kills it too. They're both equally sick...

You have to remember that park skiing is a lot more media-friendly than big mountain and backcountry. It is way easier to film a park/urban edit and put it out than it is to do the same with big lines.

Think how many times a year we get to see Tammy Walnuts ski, between edits, park shoot coverage and competitions. Then think how many times a year we get to see Sean Pettit ski. It's a lot less. People tend to talk about what's new. So sure enough when Sean Pettit has a new video part everybody is raving about it and there are tons of threads about how amazing he is. But whereas with the B&E Show we keep getting this all season, we won't see Sean Pettit until he's featured in one of Salomon's episodes or something. So he'll fade to the background, not because we respect him less as a skier, but because we're not going to have the same conversation about the same shots seven times.

Um, he is widely acknowledged to be the best skier in the world right now... what would be an appropriate level of ratedness? Calling him the second coming of Christ?

... Sage is one of the founders of this type of skiing he's been doing it for longer and in my eyes is much more deserving than anyone. Lets see pettit do a flat 3 on Denali in a touring setup with a touring backpack on.
