Sean pettit is vastly under-rated

i gotta make this known: sean pettit is still vastly under-rated.

sure, he gets good press and media attention; but having watched his segment in MSP's Attach of La Nina, that dude put together 10 minutes of insane footage on his own that would take most pros 10 years to pump out.

the amount of media coverage he receives is still not worthy.

he's by far the world's best big-mountain freestyle skier.

he'll be skiing's answer to snowboarding's Nico Muller and Jake Blauvelt.

skiing's future is bright, and he's one of the reasons why.

I could not agree more, I recently watched Attack of La Nina and that was the first movie I've seen that did him some justice as far as coverage. He is the young Seth Morrison

Sean Petit is nowhere near under-rated? I see a new thread on him every other day. Don't get me wrong though, he's probably one of the best all mountain skiers of our time.

so, he wins major pro competitions, gets the opening segment for multiple MSP films (while getting mad praise from his fellow pros), gets lots of media coverage, constantly gets talked about on the net... yet - he's under rated?

next thing you know, you'll be telling us that Timmy Wallnuts is under rated.

i agree that he is one of the best, if not the best, big mountain skiers out there right now, but he is not under-rated. anyone who knows anything about freeskiing knows that sean pettit is on top right now. that dude is crazy

under-rated =/= doesn't ski park

He kills it in the backcountry, and he charges some sick lines. I bet he kills it in the park too, but he spends most of his time in the bc.

ok, maybe i was exaggerating when i wrote the original post.

but i don't think he gets enough love from the people here on NS.

Pettit is like no other skier on the planet right now. and you can take that to the bank.

^^^^ Exaclty this, NS isn't known for it's love of Big Mountain and Backcountry, it is primarily inhabited by park rats that would rather look thugged out than ski real terrain. I agree he gets love in Powder mag and on multiple movies but on NS he simply isn't Tom Wallisch or Henrik so he sucks.

i dont htink a single person on this site would say petit sucks. if you read the "top two skiers in the world thread" his name is mentioned quite a few times. in short, you're a generalizing retard who made that statement up to sound cool.

Plenty of people have said he sucks on here, do your research. The bottom line is the younger skiers are all about park (for the most part) and they don't respect the other areas of skiing. It's obvious why your name is drugs, you would have to be on some to say I made up my previous post to sound cool. Kindly go fuck your mother......

Thank you. Petit isnt under rated at all. In my opinion Petersen shreds just as hard and is a much more versatile skier. Petit is amazing but he is not the best big mountain skier of all time. Most of his lines are mini golf lines. Mcintosh is the best big mountain skier alive right now.

Along with sean pettit, Mark Abma is one of my favorites too. he gets a lot of attention from salomon and MSP tho. His accent is fuckin sweet, "we're gonna gooo get some powder eh?"

this. big mountain riders dont seem to get a lot of exposure on ns, but sean petit is by no means underrated, he gets plenty of coverage outside of ns

who's Timmy Wallnuts? I looked him up and found nothing, I think you might possibly mean Tom Wallisch? If not can you post a video of Timmy Wallnuts, i've never heard of him.

How the hell can you say he's underrated or not talked about enough in the skiing media if he is constantly discussed even in these very forums with positive notes, he's winnning awards left and right, winning competitions left and right, and has huge and obviosuly impactful movie parts year after year in some of the biggest skiing movies?

I don't get it.

please give me some example via hyperlink, because i have not once seen anyone say anything bad about sean pettit, with reason.

This. I really dont understand all the sean pettit hype, sure he is a great skier but he most certainly is not the best big mountain skier around. like what was stated earlier he skis mini golf lines, i have yet to see himn ski a high consequence line with as much aggresiveness as the likes of mcintosh, ligare, zackrisson, etc. Pettit is a hucker with some tricks up his sleave

Sean Pettitt isn't underrated, he's just lost in a word full of park skiing. He slips through the cracks because of the fact that park skiing is so much more popular.

this and he is not the best big mountain skier.

that being said, he does kill it and is certainly up there on the list.

Ummm no.

Everyone is up on Sage's dick these days, and rightfully so.

Sage is a household name. Yet I think Pettit is much more deserving of this status.

Segment of the year/best I've ever seen. Petit is amazing for sure but kye is on another level when it comes to ski mountanineering/true AK lines and he can ski just about everything petit can.

I'm cuerious why he isn't ont he FWT? People probably don't want to compete for 2nd place....

i mean i dont think he gets the attention that i think he deserves. if you saw him ski in light the wick or one for the road, you would understand my statement.

I would say kye and callum are WAY more under-rated than sean. sean definitely gets the credit and exposure that he deserves
