Seahawks parade

The seattle metro aera is 3.5 mil sooo your numbers dont really mean anything but ya, 700k people at a parade is insane

his number is actually a bit low, the population is more like 634k. the seattle metro area consists of 41 cities/towns, some of which are an hour or more from seattle, so ya your shoot down of his numbers doesn't mean anything anymore

Don't know why the Niners needed to be mentioned... I guess five rings in six appearances is woeful to Seattle's accomplishments.

I must say I was impressed by that Seattle D.

What do you mean it doesn't mean anything? I bet people drive 6 hours for this parade if they had to

From bothell, tacoma, bellevue etc. it would take well over an hour to get there with traffic. Most people took the bus, which took a while as well. Not as many people as there could have been drove, probably because there is pretty much nowhere to park

pretty cool stuff. i remember reading last year that downtown chicago had a million or so people downtown for the blackhawks parade. and i think detroit had 1.2 mil downtown when they did the cup repeat in '98

lol why are you arguing about how long it takes to get to the parade

does it make the win more impressive? does it make the parade more impressive?

I was there, it was crazy seeing that many people packed into such a small area. Easy 50,000 on the street I was on, probably more. Took forever to get a bus back up north because they were all so full. Probably a 1:30 hour drive that should only take 40. It was cool to be a part of it. Plus marshawn was a thug with a cigar tucked into his balaclava. I heard someone have him a bottle of fireball, he took a swig and smashed it on the ground

wow you missed my point entirely. it doesn't mean anything because ~2.6 mil of that 3.5 mil aren't in seattle or neighboring seattle (cities like bellevue). op was right that the city of seattle has a population of about 600k

I went. Should have biked though. Took me three hours to get to UW via bus, would have been a 20 minute ride. Oh well.

I went. Will upload photos/edit later. Was at the clink for it, too. Didn't take me long to get there though...15 minute walk from my work. I did try to take the bus from mercer island but the line was Cray so I drove to work.

Red Sox in 04 had something like 3 million, and I think this year it was around 2 million. And when you're right in the middle of the parade, you can't hear anything but screaming. It's insane

just another example of how new england sports and their fans, topple everything, can't fuck with title town.

Eh, we still won the world series, and we should be able to give the stanley cup a run for its money, the titles don't lie.

They have a much larger population in the greater Boston area than we so in the greater Seattle area. About twice...8.4 million to 4.6. But one large factor is that the Boston parade was on a Saturday...not during the middle of a work day. What's the point of comparing anyway? Both had a lot of people, both were noteworthy and exciting. Different events entirely though...everything is a competition with you.

Butthurt? How so?

He is the one who has his panties in a bunch and insists on raining on the parades of others...almost literally.

Just pointing out he isn't comparing apples to apples. But yeah its not like his pissing and bitching started in this thread.

yeah, the mayor basically declared it a ferris beuller's day off for everyone...offices pretty much shut down across teh city. 2+ million blackhawks fans on a Friday morning...

the top photo was basically the finish line....grant park...where the rally was. figure you can add 20-30 blocks packed full of people to that.....shit was cray.

it's pointless. iv given up. they dont like us and thats ok with me. winning feels so much better anyway:)

its both how we feel and factually true. More false starts, more delay of games, the loudest stadium on earth (even if it was designed that way), and one Peyton Manning botched snap that set the tone for the biggest game we've ever won.

it is literally sad how much we care. We give 110% to be fans, just so we can have things like championships. Pathetic really.
