SD Card Problems

Alright so everytime i delete footage from my SD card via my computer, it deletes the visible file, but doesn't delete the memory space in the actual SD card, i can easily fix it by reformating the card but i have ML so its a bitch to keep on having to add it.

I have a sandisk extreme 16gb, 10, 30mb/s SDHC
 
that didn't work when i first tried it, but i just took some pictures and tried it and it worked so i guess i kinda derped, thanks guys
