Cretien cant be a bad leader. He isnt one at all. Please oh please tell me what good he has done for Canada in all these years since hes been PM? Yes, I do believe that he got rid of GST. Oh no, wait a sec that was a lie. How about the Gun registration law. Fuck, this was a brilliant idea. Spend tonnes of money, and then even more, for a piece of shit legislation that wouldnt work to begin with. Why would anyone with intent to use a gun to do harm, register it? And now Kyoto. Lets hurt the province that does the most for this country, and dont think it wont affect the rest of the country, all while doing very very little for the environment in the end.

There is so much more, but these are some of the more known examples.

Was our dollar not the weakest its ever been recently? Thank good ol Jean. Our dollar used to be worth more than the Us one, but thanks to another one of Canadas greats, it no longer is. The Pm has a good economy to thank for covering up how incompetent he and his government really are.

Of all the Prime Ministers Canada has had, he's been out of the country the most. Traveling around and using our money to pay for him.

He vouched to never use a plane which Mulroony(sp) bought because it was too expensive for the PMs needs and for the Canadian taxpayers (it was like huge in the millions). NOW, just like a year ago, he bought not one but TWO 150million dollar planes both of which put the old one to shame. (boy i'm soo glad he hasn't used the old one.)

Time to ship him out.

The amount of money it is going to cost to implement Kyoto might sustain our inadequate heath care system, or allow our military to be improved, perhaps give them different uniforms so they don't have wear green camo in afghanistan, or rent planes to fly there. i mentioned nothing about terrorism, i just used the situation in afghanistan as an example. if the a situation occurs that requires military action, it would be nice to see that Canada is at least competant, and lately it hasn't. I also didn't say that our previous leaders were any better or worse, in my opinion, trudeau was worse, but i think that we need a political change in order to see change in the country. We will never become part of the states, because they wouldn't take us, with the exception of maybe alberta, and I wouldn't want to join them anyway. I do think it is important that we have a competant government, military, and a Canadian Identity that isn't defined by doing and thinking the opposite of what the Americans do.

What was the point by the way of proving the American GDP per person was higher than the Canadian one by the way?

Canada's weak dollar isn't necessarily a bad thing as exports is a function of external value and you can thank Trudeau for most of that anyways.

Not taking sides but just throwing something in, Chretien's got no vision and his start-ups - in general - are dumbass but the guy's (or his party has) fixed or at least appeared to fixed several issues: budget deficits, and numerous social representation issues.

not everything's about the economy, Trudeau screwed us over royally if measured by economics alone but he's still considered among one of the better pm's

We have a better economy than the States right now. What do we need some big ass military for? we have no one to fight and no one want to fight us, the only reason we would need a big military is so the States can drag us along on all their little 'war's against evil'. When I get to be 18 (in 5 years) I'm gunna run for pm. Every populated area will have a set of dirt jumps per 1000 people and every city over 100,000 people must have a ski hill within an hour and a half away. It seems that the leaders of the oppositional parties haven't taken advantage of Chretiens downfalls (his many, many downfalls.) And it seems that the opposition changes their platforms weekly (except of course the NDP). This is why people continue to vote Liberal... there's no other reasonable choice.

Its pretty obvious to me that Paul Martin will be our next PM. And the Liberal party will continue to rule until someone else gets their shit together.

i havent said anywhere that canada needs a larger military, i believe i said competant and equipped. Equiped means having sufficient resources such as uniforms, weapons, and transportation. And I do agree that in the past there hasn't been much of an alternative, but there is now. Anything is better than the liberal party, they've become far too comfortable, and are exploiting the country.

stephen harper will run this country after the next election. the funny thing is, the NDP actually believes it will form the next government. i went to the NDP leadership debate last week to find out what the party is all about and they have a firm belief that they can run Canada better than anyone else. they shot down capitalism so many times it was scary

all of you saying the canadian alliance will form the next government obviously havent looked at any recent poles, with the Liberals in turmoil and so many scandals coming to light the liberals popularity has gone up in popularity and the Canadian Alliance has dropped to about 18%. The NDP also rose and may end up having a chance of forming official opposition. The reason why people like the liberals(just for the record i'm not one of them) is because they have stabalized the canadian economy and are actually reducing the defeceit. Despite all these scandals canada is in fairly good shape(except for the military), with united states economy in a downturn the canadian economy is still going strong.
