Scrawnee Peak new features

As of last year, Shawnee added a VW mini bus with a box atop it. This year they have moved a base house to make room for the new bag they are installing early season '13. Any regards?
 
shawnee sucked last year, will suck this year, always has sucked, and always will. they dont give a shit about the park. the vw feature was gay as fuck. take the damn box off and set the bus up to be tapped.
 
monday night madness cant be beat ever dude, as long as they have the super long flat bar up and a few other features its worth the 13$
 
jumps at shawnee have always sucked. Im looking forward to the airbag addition this year though. Some days the park was better than others, and hopefully park crew steps it up this year!
 
Just talked with josh at the ski expo... He said they have at least two more new rails to be put in and they are putting the bag at the former half pipe location. The dimensions for the bag are 48' x 35'. The bag is expensive too, it will have a price of $10 per day pass or a season pass for $100 you still need a lift ticket to go in the bag. They are selling 100 season passes to the bag so order them early... A bit disappointing, but he said he said they will be hiring FULL TIME rangers for the park. It would be a good time to email Josh about a winter job if you are going to want a job at a family owned ski area. Take all that with a grain of salt. The past 5 seasons they've had "new rails" and every season its either they lied or cut up a rail and made two out of it. As far as the bag, fucking stupid that you have to pay money to use it. Hopefully I don't have to since my parents know the owner and management
 
Did you really expect the bag to be free? $10 is a bit much, but when have you ever seen a free bag?
 
The one positive I see from HowAmIStillHere's post is that they won't be putting the jump in that shitty area again this year. That jump was fucking awful.
 
Fair enough, 100 bucks for a season pass is a lot, though.

And word to that jump comment, haha that was a joke even for shawnee.
 
Yeah but you have to pay. Anyone know if they're doing the Kittery Trading Post rail jam this year?
 
Went up a week or two ago, saw a new flat rail, and I also saw all of their features off to the side of the trail. Like they just leave them in the woods haha. . But 10$ isn't to bad for the airbag, that will justify Monday Night Madness this year. And that van hit is just such a waste.
 
preseason park is pretty fun actually, not gonna lie. pretty small though, wish they had a solid 20 ft rail
 
That's the problem with shawnee they have big features, and tiny features. They don't know how to build regular rails, or regular boxes. 50ft rail? Alright. Maybe 1/5 people that hit it can do the whole thing. Also, what is their obsession with A-Frames/Ranbow Rails/Boxes/C Boxes?
 
i was up thursday night, and honestly, it was the most fun skiing i have had in a long time. They were making snow, and hadnt groomed out the massive mounds for days, so there were these piles of packed down snow everywhere. so many options for finding tranny and boosting off of them. super fun. but i still agree with all previous comments, shawnee needs to step it up
 
Shawnee is the best its been since 08 last year park manager josh Harrington was injured making him unable to manage the park this year every thing is beyond good.
 
But the air bag blows gigantic donkey dick the jump into it is terrible go to loon/gunstock if u want to hit a bag.
 
Shawnee is mediocre. If I want to spend money skiing, I want it to at least count. Shawnee rakes once a weekend or so, they barely do ride-throughs, and haven't fabricated anything new in a year(s)?
 
What's the park like at Shawnee this year? Haven't been in a couple years and was thinking of going on a monday night sometime, doesn't seem like they update park info on the website
 
Its OK the second jumps pretty big . The airbags a waste of money . But they have really large stuff vw van with a box on top , 45 foot rail , wish bone rails then they got small stuff nothin in between really
