Narrow my choices down to getboards '02 Skogens for $330 or the new Scratch's for $500. I ski the east.

scratch. line's seem to suck in ice. my friend has em and has a really really tough time. they rattle a lot and stuff. scratch seem to be nice and stable, yet good solid tail tip and nice and stiff, with a good tight edge hold. go with the scratch. 260 bucks more is worth it. or however many more, iforget. its worth it tho.

check out dynastar concepts. they are stiffer then skogens and are great for all mountain. they also one of the best in the park. very good for the conditions of the east, but can do well in powder on the few days we get snow.

JayDC7 cant you read? he said between the scratches and skogens. The scratches are definitly a better ski, the skogens are a good ski, but the scratches slanted sidewall and THC core beat out the skogens.

I dunno, I think the skogens handle pretty well in ice. I was using them for the last 12 days and there was nothing they couldn't handle, deep pow, rails, kickers, back-country, on piste, gravel, ice, crud, slush, snowboards, they killed everything and killed well and in control. I have a mate who's broken two pairs of scratches in the last 3 weeks so yeah, I tried them for about half an hour and didn't really think a whole lot of them, quite powerful edge changes but the skogen has that too. I rate the skogen and at that price go for it, way cheaper.

u live in the east and so do i, so go for the scratches. There is a reason y tanner, boyd, and the other dude(goddamn forget his name to often, oh yeah evan) ride them. Plus the east has been getn some pretty good days of snow, so go for the scratches wider underfoot, better graffics(even tho the ak-enemies 03 have the best graphics).

yes i can read, but i ski in the east and ive demoed the skogens and ride candides. its my opinion that the concepts are a better fit for our powderless conditions so it doesnt hurt to suggest them.

skogens feel like big ski boards to me and i have them. i need an all mtn twin so im getting the public enemy hopefully.

scratches are sick, and more all mtn then the skogs

if you get teh scratches they'll be broken by the end of the season. about 90 percent of the scratch demo skis from last season are cracked. the skogens are probably better of you choices. i think the guy you are thinking of is mathiew paquette or however you spell his name.

I broke a pair of fs scratch after 2 weeks in May right under the binding, My bc scratch's are holding up fine. I will ride fs again and time will tell.

my scratch FS are fine, as long as you buy them now they will not break....the early ones did not have a metal plate under the boot, the newer ones do.
