How do yall feel about SCOTUS not caring about what the majority of Americans want and over turning Roe vs Wade? Are contraceptives, LGBTQ+ next on the chopping block? Is SCOTUS forcing their beliefs on America?

I think SCOTUS wants a country where women are subservient to males, and everyone is “god fearing”. I think religion is used to control people, and these fucks want power. Discuss.

I am pro choice and think women should have access to abortion services. I think it is shameful that any western country today wouldn't somehow protect the right at the highest level of the law. But remember that abortion services are still entirely safe and legal and will stay that way in the vast majority of states. From a policy perspective, the decision today is a fail. From a legal perspective, the decision today was very foreseeable.

What you're saying though is some alarmist purple-hair shit that doesn't help abortion rights advocates. I suggest you take the time to at least read the syllabus to today's opinion:

If you actually read Roe you can see the Court was all over the place and reaching hard to describe abortion as a right found in the Constitution. You can't create something out of nothing, even if the majority of Americans want it.

If the majority of Americans want access to abortion protected as a Constitutional right, rather than a just state right, they can and have always been able to do that through the legislative process. Its called an amendment. It is how the Supreme Court gets overruled when it will not overrule itself. It has been done many times.

Seems to me the inability of people to share this country with people they disagree with is becoming the fundamental weakness in our society. Today marks a dark turn toward further division and contributes to a markedly shittier future.

i see what you are saying here, but the unalienable rights to “life liberty and the pursuit of happiness” seems to mean less if women can be forced to carry baby they don’t want. Not trying to be alarmist, but it is alarming that females just lost a massive choice of how their life plays out.

The EPA fucking blows maybe I could get stage 3 on my car if the EPA fucks off. The UN is a terrorist organization, I’m all for withdrawing. Sex ed in schools is disgusting and all sex ed should be done by the parents. Gay marriage is gross. Common core is garbage.
 
While the supreme court has overturned itself in the past, this is certainly the most consequential 180 of our lifetime, pretty crazy.

And beyond the fact that this goes against what a majority of Americans wanted, they blessed us with this insane warning: "In future cases, we should reconsider all of this Court’s substantive due process precedents, including Griswold, Lawrence, & Obergefell."

Griswold: protects the liberty of married couples to buy and use contraceptives without government restriction.

Lawrence: sanctions of criminal punishment for those who commit sodomy are unconstitutional.

Obergefell: right to marry is guaranteed to same-sex couples.

SCOTUS is basically a church at this point, fuck what 'we the people' want, fuck separation of church and state, let's just shove our religious beliefs down america's throat.

This weakens SCOTUS for sure, we can expect rulings to be overturned with every tide shift in the court if they're not even trying to be impartial anymore. SCOTUS is losing the trust of the public as an institution, it's a shame imo.

I bet it will still be allowed to be used in Emergency departments. Plan B and Ella (rx only). Gonna take a lot of pull to ban a specific medication. Sure they can make it rx only but doctors should still be able to prescribe. Doesn't make it right but hopefully the board of medicine and pharmacy don't get involved and ban those meds.

Abortion in the past used to be a 50-50 down the line emotional issue that tied people to certain parties and all that. We are no longer that religious and I'm sure over 80% of the population wants to allow it probably more. I'm just skeptical that 'old faithful' is being trotted out now to divide our populace the virus is over and many of the hypocritical leftist people who claim to support body autonomy now are scum who wanted to forcibly inject me with an experimental covid vaccine. It wasn't constitutionally protected... The Roe v Wade decision was based on a weak argument. Congress needs to codify the right to abortions and we need to have some actual regulation around it. Late-term abortions shouldn't be legal but everyone should have access to them.
 
All I know is that America has a long history of banning stuff, and if I have my history correct it’s always gone very well with little or no unintended consequences.

You only have state ordained rights via personhood, which is why the pro-abortion advocates always say the baby is "not a PERSON." They never mention the fact that they have their own DNA and are of human created in the image of God the creator. Although, they don't believe in God but they certainly believe in the right to kill humans as long as they're not PERSONS INCORPORATED.
