Scott Design a Goggle Contest official winners thread

All the clothing you're wearing while wearing this, all the furniture in your room, everything in your school books, favorite magazines or videogames have been designed by professional designer. No we don't save lives, but we make your life a lot more interesting.

All associations of graphic designer are against spec-work (ex: AIGA). I think you don't understand what is Graphic Design by saying it's only about drawing pictures. You need culture to get ideas and It's a lot of work. I'm in Graphic Design at University... so I know what is it.
 
If you guys post a bunch of stupid ass comments I will delete them. You guys bitching at each other and calling each other gay isn't exactly constructive.
 
Yet posting an MS Paint drawing of "titty-fuck" goggles with splooge on them is being a pillar of the NS community, leave that up...
 
AIGA is a professionnal association for design and «spec-work» is speculative work: When you work for free without guarantee of compensation. Request spec work is unprofessional, exploitative and unethical, offer no future earning potential, can lead to copyright infringement, result in negative competitive practices, threaten the integrity and work ethic of the graphic design profession blalallala....

 
Theres a difference between deleting a few random posts and deleting half a thread. Get over it.
 
wtf....the winning one is gay.....alot of the runner up ones are freaking crappy too. Dans made honor mention too, but i didnt think his were even that great either personally. That one dude who posted a couple in that thread were wayyyyy sicker than the winner, they have the white background with all kinds of shit on them

some of those are ill but still, the winner sucks, i would def. no rock about half of those, but i guess someone likes them so hey whatever
 
winner sucked compared to many of the finalists. probably just picked it, cause it was cheapest to produce. idk. didnt see why the liked it so much? it wasnt terrible, but there were some way sicker ones
 
Wow. Props guys. Some of those designs are SOOO sick. They easily coulda picked 3/4 of them.

You've got to put yourselves in Scott's shoes, some of those designs would've been impossible to mass produce on a goggle, no matter how sick they were. The winner's design was simple, bright, effective and practical, props to the designer.
 
I understand what you are saying, but they have graphic designers supposedly that work for them, I m pretty sure they could have came up with a design like you described pretty damn easily

well said, haha and isnt that why scott would hire a designer in the first place... i mean practical work is cheap and plentiful.... i thought they were looking for uniqueness... the kind of creativity and originality you dont find in practicality.

Fuck, some of those are the ugliest things ive ever seen, at least 2 look drawn by a colorblind 2 year old. DanS crayon one should have won for sure, but there were ones posted by other kids on this site that absolutely destroyed most of the ones in the top ten.
 
the winner one sucked... there were much better entries than that... but 80's colors are back... and it says scott 489574392857345 times on it..
 
no mine are ones that have crayonish stripes/cursive scottwriting and then my other has plaid/polka dots/stripes/and somelyrics on them.
